Just got a Beyer M201N on eBay for $150. The seller has a ton listed if anyone is looking for a good price on one. They’re listed for 165 but they are accepting offers. Just made him an offer on 3 of them! Fingers crossed . . . Also, ordered a big add Latch Lake boom and another Neumann 120 to replace a faulty unit. Also, an M7 headbasket for my Heiserman 47 Tube is in the works! Offer accepted and paid for! Done like Dinner

Are you preferring the F? I'm loving it honestly. It's a bit aggressive but it retains the warmth.

Just put in an order for 10 of Capi’s new CA-0252 op amps. Can’t wait to hear em, I suspect they will be my favorite over the red dots/gars.

I don't need 10 op amps but I kind of want them anyway, LOL. I really only have use for two right now, but those are on the shortlist. I've been waiting for them to come out for sale!

OK, thanks to recent threads here, I just ordered a Latch Lake micKing 1100. And I also picked up one of those Beyerdynamic M201 N(C) mics off of that eBay seller. Not sure whether my wallet wants to thank RGO or not... Oh, but seriously, thanks to bricejchandler for the dynamic mic shootout! Those were really nice examples. Makes me want to get a Beyerdynamic M88, too.

They are cheap used and can do double duty as studio and your video film work.

I'm a Beyer guy (MC930, M88, M201, M69) and want to give a shout out for the M69. An excellent all-rounder -- similar to the M88 without so much bottom. I use mine for my live vocals and recording snare. I've heard it's good for git cabinets but never tried that.

The real "Poor Man's" M88, is the AKG D790. Putting the M88 at "10", the D790 is somewhere between a 8.5 & 9. (w/Launcher solid "9.0" IMHO)
Partly because of the M88's beautifully unique tone color/midrange fullness.
But you can pick up D790's & D770's, for around $60 or less used. Makes for a nice "no worries" M88-ish stage mic;) Chris

VERY GOOD IDEA!

The original M88 is a fine kick mic with no hype just honest full kick. The diaphragms can have a tendency to die over time though. IME the 69 is the poor man's 88 with a less satisfying response reflecting their relative pricing. It's a good all rounder live though that you're not going to worry if you lose or break; probably won't ever set your world on fire though. For me, if I had the money for a 69, I'd save a bit more and get something better. Just my 1.5 cents FWIW Cheers, Ross

I'll alternate between the 88 and the RE20. The cool thing about M69s at least in my experience is that they fly so low under the radar that you can get a couple, at least I have for under $50. I got my last one like 5 years ago so maybe in the meantime their prices have gone up quite a bit. It doesn't seem like there are many bargains left in pro audio.

Amplitube - Leslie and Fender Collection 2 - wow these are both top notch
Mooer Black Secret - it's a tiny RAT pedal. it sounds "cleaner" than a rat, more "transparent" oh well, but it has that basic grind to it. I'll build my own "mojo" mini RAT one day but this will be fine for a while I think. I have a ton of big rats but I wanted something small for the small pedalboard.

I wonder if a "ton of big rats", could be controlled by "The Willard"?. Chris

I'm working in an abandoned attic crawl space of a church. Just found a pristine Altec Lansing Voice of the Theater and a Leslie 21H hidden behind a wall. I'm hoping the Pastor will sell to me. Update: Pastor said "take 'em, give a donation". Had to do some creative engineering to remove some framing and lower them down two floors with a rope. Now they're heading to my basement workshop for cleaning and testing/refurbishment. Score.

Picked up a Friedman Sir compre compression pedal and a spare TC Dark Matter Distortion pedal... more parts for my 85 watt blackface twin clone build, and have my order on the way now for my Heiserman M7 headbasket!

and have my order on the way now for my Heiserman M7 headbasket! Sweet!! You will like that. With the lockdown, I still haven't had enough time on my M7 head basket yet. I had a bunch of vocal sessions scheduled...then....well, you know. Someday... But it sounds sweet. Very nice complement to the hk47.

Might as well just order another body, and two more mics so that you have 2 complete pairs. You know that's the only thing that will really make you happy...
