I was happy to add a pair of Meyer Sound AMIE monitors. Excellent imaging and neutral tone quality. An excellent way to control the stereo picture.

OK. FINALLY. I finally found a Gold Top that was perfect for me. Well almost perfect. It's not a vintage Gibson, but it's outfitted better, and plays better than most. I'm in heaven..... Tokai "Love Rock" - Gold Top Les Paul Completely reworked and set up to perfection. No expenses spared. Fralin Pickups - Sunbucker Blues in the neck position, and Pure PAF in the bridge position Completely re-wired with vintage Gibson pots, and Orange Drops New Bone nut, Replaced Bridge and Tailpece with high end units. Replaced switch & Pickguard with vintage Gibson parts. Replaced all Knobs with Vintage Gibson knobs. Set up, fretwork and neck work by the local high end luthier. Set up with .11's, which I'm actually digging. A players guitar, ready to rock. Dead mint with the exception of one tiny blemish / chip below the knobs. The only thing not completely replaced is the neck, body, and tuners - which are actually awesome. This guitar has been played in a lot of different places over the last couple of weeks, and it hasn't needed to be tuned once. That's amazing to me. Anyway, I'm in love. Always wanted a gold top, and I couldn't really afford the good stuff from Gibson. But at this point, I'm not missing them..... Oh....Pics? Haha....OK......

Is that Compex everything that it's cracked up to be? It is. When I was at FM Productions we had a couple of them. The related device that, if anything, is even cooler is the ADR Vocal Stressor, which is one channel of Compex and one channel of ADR SCAMP parametric EQ racked together.

I’m back after a few years of hiatus. I’m a recovering closet songwriter. I’ve sought an affordable HW signal chain to finally record demoes of over 25 years worth of material. Have been around long enough to prefer a good analog chain before sending it all for its first trip in the box.
For tracking mostly vocals and guitars (and miscellaneous mix duties) I saved my pennies, recently acquired, and am happily satisfied with the following Warm kit (with a dash of AEA and Heritage):
AEA KU5A WA-84 (stereo pair) WA-73-EQ WA-412 WA-2A Heritage Successor
I use an HD28 and an S2 Vela with Iridium and hope to add a Kingsley Page to the front of it in the near future (thanks, ragan).

Have you used Grace pre's ever? or Millennial? Merging? Just curious if you have to compare to.

Well did not know that! cool. My understanding was that it started with speaker testing... Needed better mics...needed better preamp... Designed a speaker... Then went back to mic development.

Nope, the closest I have is the original Great River MP2 (pre NV version) which is a similar straight wire with gain type of pre. The Earthworks has absolutely zero distortion though, hence the name.
