Yeah, it's pretty awesome.. I sold a TON of stuff and still had to finance. I put the new super cheap DBX eq's in it. That saved about $30k haha!! fwiw.. I've never owned a new car and have always worked really hard. It might be better to discuss it in the Mid Sized console thread.

That's a cool choice. probably better for the environment too, to drive a console rather than a motor vehicle. You might want to check out the Midas 512 EQ's also, they're pretty good for what they are, good feeling controls, 4 bands, parametric. inexpensive.

Sweetwater says they do but when I go to Midas' webiste they do not say they do. Considering what trafos cost I'm sure they would say they use them in the 512eq.

Fabfilter Pro-Q3. I have a feeling this will take over most ITB EQ duties for me.

.. what? Go line in? I'm using my console pre amps. API. SO much gain! Yeah! With a Deluxe Reverb at average stage volume I get line level directly out of a U67 when it's a foot out, go straight into the converter.

With a 67 you can go line in or just go right into a compressor if the source is loud enough. Sounds pretty awesome right into a comp like a Ba-6a ESPECIALLY with old high gain comps like a BA-6A, LA-2A, etc.

Sounds pretty awesome right into a comp like a Ba-6a I'd rather use the pad, and here's why: I run the studio like a simpleton to keep things simple. Basically everything is pre-patched for tracking. I have the studio / room inputs set up on the small fader, If I use Line In which normals to the Large Fader I have to flip that channel. It's distracting. But try it! You don't even have to go into the console at all, take it from patchbay to recorder.

The way I'm doing it means I have to hit 1 button: Pad Versus having to patch around. I don't mind the pad at all. It's not like the pad on my old 3124+. And the sound is great. And.. I have the console meter. Simple and quick is my ultimate goal.
..don't want to derail this thread too much.

It's a small line output transformer. I forget the company name but it's very similar to an OEP transformer I believe. Some people split off from that company and made another brand. In practice, it sounds good. Just a clean, multi purpose EQ you know. I like the knob layout and it feels good and works fine. Kind of a poor man's SSL EQ or something along those lines.

I picked up a Hairball Audio 76 A. Impressed with the parts' quality and the metalwork is particularly well done. I hadn't built anything for a few years so a little rusty, but got through the psu test phase ok. I got a few resisters (spellcheck had changed that to sisters, made my post more interesting ), mixed up and damaged a couple, and Mike is kindly sending me some replacements. I did the build phase without completely connecting things; just for practise. Looking forward to calibrating it and firing it up !

Picked up 10 tube traps the other day. Veeeeeeeeery stoked to use these. curious about these. heavy? easy to move as needed? Not heavy at all, maybe 20 - 30 lbs per trap. Built like a friggin' tank and super easy to move around. This might sound odd, but I was totally thrilled about the stands — you don't have to screw or adjust anything to extend them. You literally just put a foot on the base and move the trap up or down as needed. Takes all of 10 minutes to set these up.

SA-3A arrived! http://instagr.am/p/B7ZxEA-BauK Seller said Mike built it himself. But after taking the lid off I believe him. Rev1.0 boards. Different transformers than the Hairball ones. Some odd things done on the board with wiring/parts to make corrections. 8" deep enclosure. But super clean build. Should be cool to hear! I have 2 kits of these to make as well. Looking forward to it.

Bought a Purple couch of Wayfair. The compressor is much better built and probably more comfortable to sit on to be honest.

A buddy gave me some raw Vovox cable I just built up. Also picked up a random lot of Grimm TPR for cheap and was given some Ghost cable. I needed more cable anyway and it just happened to coincide with these finds. I'm not going to say it's completely changing my life but I was surprised to hear the differences after only using Mogami for years.

Just bought a Mooer Radar and a Joyo Cab Box for my IR testing. I bought the Mooer first but then found the Joyo, which has the ability to select presets via MIDI. That's pretty big for my live rig. Hopefully I will find a use for both.
