I REALLY don’t need this but too good a deal to pass up. Gretsch USA Custom 24x14, 13x9, 16x16 and 18x16. Also came with a 6.5” Black Beauty snare. Time to sell some drums I’m overloaded

Can never have too many la3as right? It's hard... I've got 4 now, and that actually seems about right. There are occasions where I wish I had more though.... LOL

I have not heard the Chimera, but it's supposed to be identical save the power supply. Which COULD be a big deal. Or maybe not. At any rate, mike's power supply on the SA3a's is PUNCHY!!! I've got the LA500A's, and unfortunately, although cool, they don't hold a candle to the SA3a's. I'll take the SA's 10 to 1 over the LA500a's. Just my personal preference. As for the AS ones....who knows. I find the SA's to be as good and sometimes better than the OG 3a's.

I got a Radial SAT-2 volume control, mini monitor control thing. I really like it! It's much better than some of the other ones I've used of the passive "pot in a box" type. Although they all basically work the same.
I'm using it for my B-room, which now has a Crown power amp driving the Polk RTi A3 speakers, and a Clarett 4Pre for audio I/O. Killer sounding system. Tomorrow I get the record player wired in when the ART DJ Pre II shows up to finish things off. Fun stuff.
Previously I was using a home stereo receiver and that needed to go, those don't really do it for me any more. The Crown has about 6X more headroom and you can hear it.

I bought a Camco floor off Reverb...I put it off trying to squeeze $50 off for a month and the seller just wouldn’t let it go...but the odds of me finding another one would take years so I sucked it up.
Also, sales tax sucks.

Loaded the HA-609 in place. About to put it through some paces. Very well built and appropriately heavy, physically. Attachments:

Our LA3A is coming along insanely well... ;-) We will have a module or two at NAMM, with the pop topped, to show off the guts, etc. Likely won't be any audio running through it as we are still tweaking that side of things - but the circuit is 1:1 to an LA3A save for the power supply, obviously. It's a 500 series module, BUT - we're planning (and HOPING, if all works out) to offer any and all 500 series modules we have in the pipeline as 19" Stereo Rackmount units as well. Same guts as the 500 series, simply nestled inside a chassis with a ridiculously over-engineered power supply, etc (with mega-design assistance courtesy of a VERY highly regarded gentleman in the analog hardware world). Not a 500-series chassis per se' as you won't be able to change the configuration of the two units in the chassis but it offers our AS FAM a rackmount option for those that aren't into 500-series! SHHHHHHHH!!! Also - we'll be using NOS transistors and other mojo bits that are period-correct as to what UREI would have originally used.

Egnater Rebel 30, Webber Mass 100 and a handful of Celestion cabinet impulses. Time for some quieter guitar part recording experiments.

Picked up a slate raven core station with a side car. I've been on a D-Command for years so it's an adjustment but I'm enjoying it so far. The reason for the whole change is I'm getting an Avid S3 soon so I can take it with me while I'm traveling to have a compact control surface and a couple of channels to track through.

I wouldn't be worried about coloring the sound of a mixcube, LOL! Passive monitor controllers WILL color your sound but I wouldn't worry about a mixcube, since they are so far from flat full response anyway.

I'm not sure what you mean by side signals exactly, but in mono the level coming out of the speakers should be about the same as stereo, but yeah it's going to sound way different. Mayb you've got some L/R stuff out of phase? Yes the color is mostly going to be in the high end on these passive controllers. Same thing just happened to me with my SAT2 in my B room setup, it's noticeable.

Grab some used acoustic treatment off Facebook. (4) RPG Diffusers, (2) GIK Panels to go with what I have, and (2) huge ATS panels that I think will work on my back wall (80” long)
I think I’m done with acoustic treatment in the basement now. About floor to ceiling haha
