I've been wanting to try out a Motown DI for a while so I finally found a couple transformers and had some put together. One with a Triad A12J and one with a UTC A11. You're going to love them! Are those from Downbeat Studios in Chicago?

Snagged a pair of Bosphorus 14" New Orleans hi-hats. Been trying to get a set of cymbals that are between the dry and dark Istanbul Agop Signatures and my Paiste Masters Dark.

Picked up a Vermona VSR 3.2 spring verb yesterday. Still putting it through the paces but it's definitely quieter than reamping through an amp and easier than using the Tank Driver and an external tank. Really digging it so far.

Five inches of snow on Halloween but FedEx brought me my AudioScape Buss Comp today. Still on my "holy grail" mic search, but want to get a Christmas project done in November so will use what I have. Looking forward to seeing/hearing how this Buss Comp glues my pre-recorded/processed tracks to my vocals. Kudos to Charlie at AudioScape for providing me with an extremely detailed set of instructions on how to best leverage the unit for my needs. Above and beyond, really. Between their customer service and those outstanding (and seductive) Instagram posts, how can you NOT buy their equipment?

I'm "OK for now" (Famous Last Words! ) but... My future purchases whenever they might be, will be gravitating towards those with a genuine passion for what they do-like Todd's. It's nice to be supportive of those, who keep the audio excellence flame going! Chris

I prefer the U89, over the U87ai. Unless the AI is run through a quality tube pre. Then comparable on most vocals IMHO. Chris

Since you guys turned me on to Best Service, I picked up EZ Drummer 2 and 8 EZX expansions on the cheap this afternoon. I don’t need the full out Superior Drummer 3 since I am just making demos and having fun. I scoffed up what I needed for a little over $300. Consider me happy.

Got another Tascam UH7000 coming, number two for me. I think these are pretty special, these days still as preamp/ADC. I plan to use the second one for mobile recording.
Also
PSP PianoVerb 2 Eventide MangledVerb
both of these are on big sales right now and I am focusing on making bold choices and getting more into sound design, so these are well timed for my current fascination. I've got more than enough bread and butter plugins and these are anything but those.
if you go to Plugin Discounts you can get the Eventide for about $24, PSP was about $17 from the PSP website

I picked up a used Moog Little Phatty over the weekend. Jury is still out on whether I will keep it. Great as a bass synth, I just don't do much work in genres that need it. But, the price was right. :-) Always too hard to resist good deals, even when I don't need something. :-)

I've got a slim phatty and that thing is a bass machine! I don't use it all the time either but it's pretty special. It can also get nasty and annoying and honky bright if you want it. Pretty great mono synth to have around.

I broke down yesterday, and bought a Console 1 Fader. I am loving it so far. Did a quick and dirty test in Reaper, and the integration is great.
I do wish it had digital displays for the channels. It's easy to get lost. But with the price point in mind, they had to cut the costs somewhere. The build quality is top notch, though.

They look great! Can I ask, who made them for you? I've been wanting to try out a Motown DI for a while so I finally found a couple transformers and had some put together. One with a Triad A12J and one with a UTC A11.

How do you feel about this compressor? Its on my short list. It’s a good utility opto compressor, doesn’t impart much tone. I’m thinking it might have been worth the extra dough for a SOC 20

May just have pulled the trigger on an Audioscape V comp.
And I blame all of you, you bad people.
Need to clear out some space in the racks though.
It will be good to get rid of some stuff that never gets used. Roland Dep3 anyone?
Cheers, Geoff

Picked up an Audioscape Opto compressor few weeks back, then saw Geoff's post on the V comp so now have that inbound. This is not helping me conserve my retirement funds🤑

This is not helping me conserve my retirement funds🤑 Dude, my buddy (who fortunately for me let's me borrow his stuff all the time) just got the V-comp, opto-comp and the D-comp in the last month. Can't wait to try them. I'm saving for the D-Comp myself.

Going the opposite way and selling gear I no longer use - it's cathartic. Selling Electra MPC guitar with Flanger and Power Overdrive modules
Sold Bogen CHA-33 Challenger - Converted 1950's PA head into great 6L6 guitar amp Audiopile Cube road trunk Alto SXM112a speakers with 50' siamese power/audio cables Unused pedals - Keeley Katana Boost, Compressor, Suhr Shiba Drive Radial Pro RMP Peavey USB-P Mexi Strat
Now I just need to find what to spend it on... part of me wants to upgrade my audio interface from my Eleven Rack, but since it handles my Summit Mic Pre and my Ensoniq ESQ-M, don't really need to upgrade yet. May splurge on a Mather Cab 1x12 Extension cab for my Princeton Reverb for use playing live.
