Wow I was so impressed by this Trident MTA Dual Channel preamp and Eq. IT is nealry 20 years old but boy this thing really surprised me. The EQ is wide and wonderful, the Preamp sounds big and full. Unfortunately I could only hold it my hands for a week as it had to be returned due faulty channel 2 but boy this things is now on my radar. I know PMI has put out a second version of this I wonder what the differences were besides the massive price.

I completed another Wolfbox. This one is for sale, I might list it in the classifieds on RGO, $300. This one is my "standard" vintage Triad with 8:1 turns ratio. I am about to build three more with a 10:1 turns ratio for the first time to see or prove that transformer works as well, or how different they are. One of those will be for sale. I am trying to get my personal collection up to four of these because I love them so much.

Big spender, bought a couple hypercardioid Oktava capsules for $25 each.
I think these are my new guitar pedals...just buy every one I find that’s cheap!

Here's my little mini pedals I made recently, an EQD Speaker Cranker / Electra Distortion and a BC183 sun face / fuzz face with a couple of my tweaks. I've got an MXR Carbon Copy Mini coming later today, and the new Peterson StroboSTOMP HD strobe tuner pedal coming on thursday or friday. I really miss my strobe tuner. As much as I love the PitchBlack series this is what I've always wanted, they just came out recently. Getting that pedalboard dialed in!

The newer, 2nd generation, one from PMI is supposed to be more authentic to the original A-Range Channel Strip. I'm sure yours sounds great, but IIRC the MTA was maligned by purists as not being a true A-Range. But you know how that goes, just head over to your favorite Neve Clone thread if you want to see a tired debate about what constitutes a true clone. Either way, if you like it I say use it! The A-Range was definitely magical.

That's a great idea! Let's turn this thread into a tired debate!! ;-D
I really like the Arturia Triad-A channel. It's a native VST A-Range plugin. It's what I can afford, haha!

Definitely has that warm vintage sound .

Just started using some of my newly available plugins. jcoutu1 is right about the Ampeg V4B from Plugin Alliance.... sounds really dang good on bass. Haven't tried it on guitar yet. Used a Rule Tec "Pultec" EQ and the sound was right there. Don't even think I needed any compression. Carbon Copy mini is so good. I was sleeping on this pedal. Used to own an original many years ago. Also got a Gator case for my handheld microphones and this is possibly my favorite thing I've bought in a while. It's funny how little things like a good case can feel so much more professional.

Deering Goodtime R6 banjo with Kavanjo pickup. Now I need to learn how to make it sound like a banjo and not like a broken acoustic guitar!

Went on drumMaker to get a replacement hoop and snare wires for my '64 Acrolite, ended up buying their 5x14 black brass snare kit to share hardware with.
Also grabbed the Eventide Instant Phaser Mk II $27 flash sale at AudioDeluxe.

Another AudioScape 76F (to make a pair), and 2 AudioScape EQP-As. Needless to say, I am psyched to give those a go. Also, two Sanctus 8U rack cases with side handles to put all this sh*t in.

Blue Rocket stage Two Tube mic. Very nice. Now I have play the Capsule collection game. 3 by BEANAT19, on Flickr B7 U47ish B11 U67ish B4 M50ish Omni Also, I got a better sound from it after padding it with a -12dB inline pad, cause the out put is crazy hot. Now the output is similar to my FleA 49. I also changed the Tube from the stock ECC88 to a PCC88. There are other ECC88 options, but the PCC88 seemed to mellow it out a bit in a nice way by under-powering it slightly and adding some mid push. Talk to bowie for more details about tube options.
