Dynaudio LYD48 with the 18S sub. Wow. Clarity in the vocal range is wonderful. I’m moving up from AdM A7X so 2-way to 3-way. It was always going to bea big shift. The sub is awesome, weighs a ton! I have it kinda inline with the monitors and off center.I am using the Sub EQ to tame a few modes and adding Sonarworks correction on top... will be re-measuring again after a week but very happy

I finally took the plunge and got a Chandler Curve Bender. So far it's amazing! It just looks so right in that rack! Yeah! It's an Audiorax 4U with handles. I was originally planning to put a pair of Stam Pultecs in it, but that fell through so I decided to take my preorder and sell a few other things and go with this instead. Quite happy with that decision as it sounds amazing. The TG2 is also wonderful. I have been chasing 1073 EQ clones for years now, but the combination of these two is making me lose interest lol. I also have an 8U rack with two channels of REDD.47 and RS124 for the other Abbey Road flavor.

The TG2 has been my only pre for a decade now. Every time I think of changing it, I try something else out, and don't like it as much, even GML.

Personally, I believe it's one of the best preamps out there. Yes, that's the one I tried out for a week, it was certainly cleaner and more detailed than the TG2, but I also found it more sterile and dare I say it boring in comparison, so it went back to FunkyJunk. I could see it working for some things, but I prefer to have a bit more mojo in my outboard gear/analogue chain.

My main pres are the REDD.47, TG2, and various 1073 clones. I've never been too interested in super neutral.

Pair of 47’s! You should probably get a small bottle of expensive Scotch to celebrate after a purchase like that!

I was thinking about posting this earlier but I couln't bear to. But since you are leading the dance, I soldered together two new 6 foot XLR mic cables today. Equivalent value of what I don't know, $60 or $80 or something. Cost in parts for me probably about $10. Real exciting stuff. Especially compared to a pair of U47s.

Pair of 47’s! Originals??? Yes, originals. 1953 and 1955 Healthy VF14’s BV8 All stock components except newer k47 in one. (60’s) Original NG supplies. The Tele badged one is actually museum quality. (I took that XY pic with instagram, so it added a bunch of “texture”. Here’s a better shot. Attachments:

Well the bottom one in that pic is a large badge Neumann and the Telefunken shows a lot of wear. Hi Tim. Really great to have you on board here. Very much respect for your ck12 skills. (I have some 414eb’s with brass ring ck12’s that I hope I never have to send to you. But I recently referred to you another guy in town who’s 414eb met a drumstick 😬.) As I posted above, the “wear” in that first XY photo on the Tele badged 47 is actually “digital wear”! I took the photo with instagram app and it add some texture. I posted a better photo and some details. You will also see that it’s the “regular” size Neumann badge. Not the large.

I just posted a pic of my Telefunken badged U47 over on the Heiserman thread. It's from the same era as yours but all the wear on the outside is analog. VF14 tube and K47 capsule. I love it.
