I don't, but I think trakworx (Justin) bought one. Maybe he can chime in. But Barbaric did recently revise those mics with some upgrades. They now use Maiku capsules instead of 3U, and AMI transformers instead of Cinemag. Those prices are super tempting. the last I checked, their “67” didn’t have the negative feedback circuit, and they were relying on other methods to get the top end under control. But that may have changed? Regardless, I’ve heard they sound great. Yeah, as I understand it, the previous iteration of the BA-67 used a flat circuit and 3U's smooth top k67 capsule. The new version listed on Barbaric's site says it has a "relatively flat circuit" and uses the Maiku 67. Another cool thing about the Barbaric mics is he has a lifetime warranty on labor, and lifetime free labor on tweaks and mods. If you don't quite love the way a mic sounds you can send it back to him and he will tweak it until you're happy.

All the talk of the V-comp put the Sta-Level back in my mind. Went to visit a buddy this weekend and ended up leaving with his 6386 equipped Sta. I'd only played with it briefly when doing sessions at his place but now that I get to dig in myself I'm very much in love. Completely unexpected but also perfect timing for upcoming sessions.

Originally, I had posted an inquiry, asking how much Adam's BA-49 had cost... Then saw the other (excellent) informative responses. I'm also curious about any end-user experience, with the stock microphones. (I expect it all to be positive BTW!) Thanks, Chris

I'm also curious about any end-user experience, with the stock microphones. (I expect it all to be positive BTW!) Thanks, Chris I think I mentioned it earlier but I got the stock BA-37 at first. Definitely a cool mic but with the 3U Audio capsule there was occasionally some nastyness around 6-7k when pushed, was nice though until that range was over excited. I always liked my c38 so I decided to put an order in for the Sony cap. Took many months to come in but when it finally did I sent everything up to Chris and he swapped it out, it went from just a cool mic to an amazing mic. I can't speak for the stock BA-49 as after seeing what the capsule change did for the BA-37 I decided to splurge a bit and lucked out finding a K49 for an amazing deal.

You know we're some kind of sub-culture when we get excited about a mic in a photo.

Especially when we're being dynamic, but not bipolar patterned! Chris I think we have a degree of omni-science here, if not omni-potent, definitely a bit omni-present.

Xaudia "The BEEB" man this little Ribbon mic sounds great. A vintage restored Reslo by one of the greats - Stewart Tavener. I have had a few of these but this one just came back sounding just a little extra special. Not sure why. Cant wait to see how it stacks up against the Samar VL95, though I do know they are slightly different in construction techniques. But it should be fun to compare.
And in keeping with the latest Microphone trend - lets make this picture BIGGGG.

Is that a 4038 clone, I would imagine so, being called 'The Beeb'?

No its a British Reslo small ribbon motor been converted to 300ohm output new transformer and some clean ups. Reduces the noise and increase the output without turning it into a modern condenser style sound. So its still keeps it mojo sounds whilst enhancing all the best bits.

Purchased my first 2 of many ML2 modules from CAPI.
Probably gets come LC40s and LC25s next to try and modify gain steps next.
was hoping to grab an HDX card this weekend but might be getting a house..so that's on hold.
