http://instagr.am/p/BxfRE9iHVYn A pair of minty fresh KK84 capsules for my KM84 mics. Direct from Neumann. Took three months after ordering, but they finally arrived. Hoping for a better stereo match than the old capsules. Now I just need a pair of KK83s, it's never ending... [EDIT] Also finally got around to buying U-he Diva, it's incredible! Wow I didn't know they made KM84 capsules anymore. Yes, and they still make KK83 and KK85 capsules too. I know they have KK83s in stock at the moment, not sure about 85s.

Why the hell is Neumann not just selling KM84s again god damn it instead of the terrible KM184

I would love to see them re-introduce the KM84 like they did with the U47FET and the U67

Just received my Barbaric Amplification BA-49. So far, on initial listen...the BA-49 is everything I’ve dreamed about. I can’t imagine getting any closer to the M49 sound for this amount of money. Big 👍 to Chris for making my dream a reality! I am super excited to get it in the fray. Chris does all point to point with turret board assembly. The mic is perfectly quiet, amazing depth and tone, zero harshness and super warm & cozy on my ears. Zero sibilant distortion here. Very impressed!!
Parts used:
CU-49 Body kit and Shock-mount
Accusound AT-7 cable w/ Binder ends
Thiersch STW7 with STS7a holder
Selected 5840W tube
AMI-TAB BV8R [6.5:1 ratio]
collective case PSU case

Was that the one on Reverb from Slovakia? Yes Ah, I thought about nabbing that to compare against my MK67’s with Neumann BV12’s and KH capsule mod, and then flipping it for some easy coin. But, I had a terrible experience with an overseas purchase a few years back that ended in a PP dispute. Hell of a price, though. Good for you!

I was real close to pulling the trigger on a 2018 Reissue but then came across this one. I reached out to the seller to ask some questions and he was real responsive and knew what he was talking about so thankfully it worked out this time. I do always get a little uneasy though on big purchases like that.

Bought the H3000 Factory plug-in on sale, $67 at AudioDeluxe. Been acquiring new time-based effects lately, M7/480L IR's for Space/Space Designer, Abbey Road Reverb Plates, MH Dirty Delay, as my effects returns have been preset with Soundtoys Effect Rack and Eventide verbs for a loooong time.
In VI land, I finally installed Sennheiser's DrumMic'a free Kontakt instrument and then signed up for IK's newsletter to get the free Bully Syntronik instrument they're giving away this month. I saw they have their entire T-Racks 5 Max crossgrade marked down to $180 this month, which is quite good if you haven't picked up their Master EQ 432, Vari-mu comp or Stealth limiter. I already own everything besides the CSR verbs.

I love DrumMic'A, I've been using it as a guitar practise aid for over a year now, and recently started putting it in tracks too.

Sennheiser-Neumann finally woke up and realized other companies were 'eating their breakfast' and got to work on putting highly desirable products back on the market, where possible.

2x Louder than Liftoff Mr. Focus Stage II (Royal Blue) 1x Hamptone MP500A JFET mic pre 2x Hairball Lola's (one is currently not functioning because I f'd up one of the op amps). I’ve got a pair of Lola’s and man I love those things... I got 200ft of Starquad and a ton of neutrik xlr’s today to make up some much needed custom sized cables. Got my Lola's working. I just ordered a new assembled opamp. Couldn't deal with trying to fix one. ha. 3 out of 4 ain't bad. They took their first spin on some room mics (r84s in blumlein) and they sound great. Excited to try them on more things. The Hamptone might be my new favorite pre though. Damn.

God, I hope so... If Sennheiser reissued the KM8- series, that would be incredible. Some tube manufacturer out there need to up their game and recreate the AC701k already! That way a whole different family of mics can be reissued (Neumann KM54's, M49's, M269c... Schoeps' M221b...).

I'm stretching the thread title here a little as my E.Guitar isn't new but the refinish/paint job on it is newer to me.
This 1964 Fender Jazzmaster was found many years ago on the road in a Missouri Pawn shop with the original finish already taken off. I played it that way for years until finally getting around to restoring it with my brother in law to an original 60's Fender surf green color. I realize that while I didn't care for the previous wood finish the original owner had sanded it down to, that some would prefer it that way. But it just didn't work for me and I always liked Fender's surf green. Here's the Before and some after pics, I’ve spent years dreaming about getting the walnut Elvis Costello style Jazzmaster.

I’ve spent years dreaming about getting the walnut Elvis Costello style Jazzmaster. I'm a big fan of wood grain myself. Brown can be tricky but sometimes it works (for me.)

Sexy. I went around the room at VK with the $1200 headphones or whatever they have hooked up. Thought the Flea 249 might have been the best sounding mic in the room.
