Seems kind of embarrassing to share compared to some of the acquisitions posted here, but I’m really excited about the new Vertigo Compressor and Eq plugins I just got. Just beautiful. Also the Rule Tec Pultec plug-in is FANTASTIC as is the PSP E27. Definitely check them out!

I was looking for a “go-to” Pultec plug-in, the Rule Tec seems to be very well liked, and the price is great!

I was spoiled to have been a staff engineer at a studio that had an original 1a and Meq5 and though it’s been awhile since I’ve used a real one, this is the first piece I’ve heard that sparked familiar to my ears, including the Warm Audio. Believe it or not, the PSPE27 is in the same league in the low end while being completely different. Kinda shocking actually.

Yeah the low end on the E27 is pretty insane. Easy to take it too far though, a little goes a long way

I bought All the Samples From Mars back in January for $29 just to play with them in EXS24. Got an e-mail this weekend that they re-sampled their first LinnDrum pack and it was $1 to update, so I threw those on the pile as well. I looked around for other sampled synths and found the free up until today MellowTrawn sample pack, which is fantastic. Also installed Datsound's free OB-Xd to have a play, but haven't torn myself away from MellowTrawn yet to explore it. Since I was having luck with sample-based instruments I decided to give sample-based IRs another look and downloaded Samplicity's M7 IRs and Past to Future's 99 cent IR sampler. I had been mulling over adding PSP's 2445 as well, but found Wave's Abbey Road Reverb Plates was on yet another $29 sale today, so I splurged on it at AudioDeluxe for $26 and got the Metric Halo Dirty Delay throw-in with it.

Filled out the A Designs 503 with a used Harrison EQ32 I snagged for a great price off Reverb. Got it patched in and am really liking it on a mono OH send for parallel. Lot's of flexibility. I now have 5 great 500 series EQ's - 2 x TAV's and 2x E27's plus the EQ32.
The 503 is a great little rack, holds 3 500 series modules in a 1U form and a massive external power supply.

Picked up the Miktek MPA 201. 2 channels of Neve 72 inspired preamps with 6 AMI transformers, including 2 transformers dedicated to just the DIs. Well designed power supply. Variable impedance. USA built. Kinda surprised I haven't heard more about these units! www.soundonsound.com/reviews/miktek-mpa-201

I didn't acquire it recently, but I just got my Horch RMJ2 back from almost 5 months of Mic Rehab captivity and 1 month of someone else rescuing it and doing the work. Sounds amazing, fantastic mod work and thanks to drumhead57 for hooking me up with the secret handshake that made it's repair and return possible. Ooooo, and it glows blue or red! Take that Chandler!!!

What happened with Mic Rehab having your microphone for so long?

What happened with Mic Rehab having your microphone for so long? Other than disassembly and losing track of the box and some screws (one that needs to be custom made), nothing happened. Which was the problem.

I’ve heard a few of those sinker models, Gruhns likes to take them to the Opry and try and sell them to the bluegrassers. They a pretty nice! The tops are pretty white so that may or may not appeal to you. I’d say play it in person and see if you love it or not!

Adirondack top with Mahogany back and sides is one of my favorite combos. Out of my significant guitar collection, my Collings traditional with adirondack and mahogony with Martin Monel strings is one of my all time favorites. I bet this one sounds incredible. Besides, I don't think you will find anyone here that will try and stop you. This one with your D28 authentic and you about have your bases covered. Anyway, that's how I would rationalize it.
