I also bought this, hasn't arrived yet. It's a Bock Custom Shop 49 with a AC701 tube. I got a good deal on Reverb. No idea if it sounds better or different than the Flea 49 Next I'm selling, but I will say it looks a heck of lot more impressive. View AttachmentI’d be curious to hear them side by side if you get the Bock before you sell the FleA. I will say, having tried the FleA 49 with an AC701 and without, the tube definitely adds something interesting.

I’m hoping to do a comparison myself. I will also say Bock being in the US is another reason I’ve been drawn to them, if it ever needs service

Would totally get a Bock over anything else overseas. Really love that 251. Gets such high praise. But the ac701 tube is amazing in a mic. I can vouch for that having two Schoeps M221b’s. I’d be very curious to hear your review also of that bock 49 when you get it.

Bock has a great rep. I’m working on getting the Bock 251 in my studio to demo soon. I love my FleA49 though.

Behringer X-Touch One. My latest gear isn't as sexy as most of these entries, but figured I'd post in case anyone is wondering about this piece or considering it. I've had Behringer gear in the past (rackmount headphone amps x2), and they both died a long slow flaky death, so I swore off the B-word. But I read everything I could find about this; it's less expensive than the PreSonus, and I got a deal on it, so I figured I'd give it a go. I'm mainly using it as a remote transport control. But it does so very much more than that. The scribble strip feature is super handy. Build quality is impressive regardless of company; all metal chassis, very heavy, solid. Built-in USB hub. And it is totally plug and play. I've used it with Logic and Reaper; no complaints. Plus it has customized overlays for most DAWs, including Reaper. Very flexible; customizable readout. I've had it for a couple of months; no issues thus far. I like it. www.musictribe.com/Categories/Behringer/Computer-Audio/Desktop-Controllers/X-TOUCH-ONE/p/P0CAP-09

Never had a problem, they are cheap and never seam to die.

Been in the rack for literally years without a single problem. I dig it.

Behringer has stepped it up recently with their synth line especially. Heard great things. I forget who’s running it now, but he’s a real synth guru. Stuff is seriously competing with the likes of Moog.

The Rane is a rock solid beast, but has problems with some loads ( I think high impendence?).

Well, my JBL PRX815 PA speakers arrived yesterday, just in time for our gig this Sunday. Ended up costing me a bit more than expected, but they're much better than what they're replacing.

I also bought this, hasn't arrived yet. It's a Bock Custom Shop 49 with a AC701 tube. I got a good deal on Reverb. No idea if it sounds better or different than the Flea 49 Next I'm selling, but I will say it looks a heck of lot more impressive. My reaction is "Daaaaammmmmn" I didn't even know that mic existed, gorgeous

I think Bock will make the mic on request. There’s a dealer here in Nashville that has new one in stock...it’s $5999.
I’m not a singer some I’m not the best at evaluating microphones but I’m happy with a quick text of the Bock 49. I put it up next to my Flea 49 Next and it’s a bit more dull sounding. I think the Flea is still flattering on some voices and worked well for me when a vocal was very upfront and not competing in a dense mix, but the Bock seems to have a little more going on in the mids that’ll make it a bit more universal.
I paid $2600 for the Bock. I sold the Flea Next last night for $2200
And the Bock 241 I got from Guitar Center has a microphonic tube (at least that’s what me and Bowie think...haven’t heard from Bock) so I ordered a NOS EF80 to see if that was the problem. If not, it’s going back

Yeah 6BX6/EF80/EF800...Bock has a made up name EF814K which is there hand selected EF80’s.
If the EF80 I ordered fixes the issue I’ll track down a Telefunken or Siemens at Bowie’s request. The stock one in the Bock was an Ultron...
Finding a place that has microphone tested EF80’s might be tough. Not used in many mics. Pearlman uses them

Got a replacement EF80 tube for the Bock 241 and that seems to have been the culprit. I ordered a NOS Siemens off eBay as well so I’ll have a couple options to try. No really test this particular tube for noise in a mic so it’s a bit of a crap shot but I think I have 4 different tubes coming and I spent maybe $20 so luckily they are affordable
