I grabbed a Hudson Broadcast Overdrive, and a passive Mackie Big Knob because I need to do some mixing from home but sold my Apollo...

Posted earlier the specs on this Harrison MR-3. Went to pick it up today. Holy cow, I bought an elephant. We pulled the modules and it was still to heavy. It took 3 guys hours to get it off the truck and in the room. The cabling had to be put in a wagon and pulled along. A blessing and a curse, But I wouldn't have bought the console without it. The virgin modules look like new. A clean up and recap is next up. Just recapped all the MR-3 Modules, Cleaned and lubed, kept everything else original. Packing up the console for the move to it's final resting place. Yea, all that cabling. wouldn't have bought it without it. Plug and play.

I bought a Sony DSP-V77 at an AES yard sale for $50...but it’s not working.
So I bought $20 worth of caps hoping it’s a power supply issue (based on reading other people experiences it seems like it might be)

Just scored a pair of AKG C414EBs for a grand. They're not the nylon capsule version but I guess you can't have everything.

Brass EB’s are pretty rare, a lot rarer than the amount I have seen advertised as having brass. I do miss the JW modded Brass EB I found in a pawnshop and lost in Hurricane IKE😥

I was gonna get an LTL Mr. Focus Stage II or a VP28 but for whatever reason the guitar took precedence. Partially because it was a good sale and I also have been missing this guitar for many years, on the wishlist, things that got away.

I think the Epiphone hollow bodies are excellent. I really like them, sometimes with some electronics work and/or fretwork. (where they cut the costs)

I'm kinda wondering about retrofitting some high quality clone capsules to these - dunno what it would cost or if it would come close enough to originals... I have not actually opened these up yet - I just shined a really bright tac flashlight through the grill.

I just received an EV RE11. For some reason I've been wanting to try these mics for a while. I play with a drummer who sings and moves around. Hoping this mic might fit the bill for sounding consistent on that, while avoiding feedback.
Also thinking about trying, depending on the day recording, for a hi hat mic, or maybe even snare.

I saw somebody once call the EV DS35 "The Singing Drummer Microphone" Also Joel Hamilton, who apparently recorded some stuff, uses an EV RE11 as an off center drum set room mic as a "secret weapon" I have one myself that was given to me by a family friend. It was my first vintage microphone. I guess I haven't plugged it in in a coon's age. I like pretty much all of the old EV mics that I have.

I find that kind of funny because the DS35 is the non variable-D version of the RE11 and has more proximity effect than most. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great mic, guess it says something about singing drummers😁

If you do it just get one of Tim’s CK12’s it’s as close as you can get, but I know guys who love their Teflon EB’s.

If the battery goes dead, those units tend to get stuck and appear locked up. If that is the case, you just need to do the factory reset after changing the battery. Hold down bank, edit and C while powering up. Could be a simple fix for you.
