New Eventide SP2016 Reverb plugin update for $29. Now comes with all three algorithms from the original 80’s hardware, as opposed to just Stereo Room. Also has Vintage or Modern modes. Always been one of my faves. Has an uncanny knack of blending seamlessly with the source and mix, despite sounding quite artificial when hearing it 100% wet. Currently 32 bit VST is crashing all three of my hosts, but hopefully they’ll sort it soon. Here’s hoping they’ll also add it to the H9 one day! Good looking out, am buying, look at all this money I'm saving!! edit: Oh, I thought it was going to be an upgrade on my old license but no, still have 2016 Stereo Room plus a new license for 2016 Reverb. Have multiple UltraChannel Native and EQuivocate licenses from past promotions as well, they seem to multiply...

Good tip on Hybrid Air 3 instrument. I just downloaded it and got all the free and $1 expansion packs. This thing sounds really good! Sort of reminds me vaguely of a cross between my Moog slim phatty and my Roland Alpha Juno. I'm having a lot of fun withe wavetable sounds. Pretty ridiculous to have all of these sounds for less than 10 bucks. Yeah, I keep telling myself I don't need the AIEP3 complete bundle, but since the $1 Hybrid license qualifies for the $75 upgrade price, I'd really be saving money, right? right?? I just grabbed the Vacuum from AIR as well since it was also only a dollar (77 cents in my case) this one sounds totally different, more dirty and funky, it's cool. I've only been playing with it for a few minutes but I'm having some good ideas and sounds. I'm starting to compose a little thing with it. You are right... the bundle looks very tempting.

I bought an Ashly SC-55, I have no idea why. I owned a SC-50 10 years ago and tried to modify it and screwed it up...so ready to actually hear what they sound like on electric guitar

Like the JW 555 I had to sell a while back because it blew away some mega bucks mono blocks and the audiophile offerd twice what I had into it, the 545 will float between the Magnepans, Quested 302s, Volt 10in subs and what ever DIY builds or what ever passes through.

I could not resist, bought the AIEP3 bundle on the last day, should have it all downloaded in a week or so. Will have to stick these sample library installers on their own drive, never want to go through this download process again. Paid for the Roland synth on Sunday morning, still no shipping info, looks like I'll be requesting a refund through Reverb tomorrow if I get no tracking info by then. edit: Tracking info posted today, will be delivered on Saturday, praying it's not a Roland box filled with empty beer cans. Maybe it will be stuffed with Neumann TLM102s?

I'm mildly bummed I didn't know the bundle price was ending. Hopefully they'll put it back on sale in winter or something. I agree about the installers, but I guess you gotta consider the price. Which Roland are you getting?

It's a JD-Xi, the white limited edition. I've never owned a synth, had a Roland controller left at the studio for over a decade and had plenty of Grooveboxes/Dr Samples/Dr Rhythms pass through, figured I'd start with what I'm most familiar with. Needed something I could futz with on the couch and leave out for clients to futz with during production. Being able to plug a guitar straight into it is what sold me honestly, I'm never gonna be more than a one-handed synth player but fiddling with backing parts using the note-to-voltage input and a guitar looks like fun!

OK..... I've survived not buying anything major for quite awhile, but one can only go so long eh?? This was a pretty big month. 1.) Just ordered and paid for a pair of JBL 708P's....super excited to try these out in the Hedback room. Will probably be a couple of weeks..... 2.) Ordered and paid for something I've been waiting for for a year - Native Instruments S88 MK II - 88 note controller keyboard. They come into stock next week. Can't wait to toss my POS M-Audio controller in the trash. Might bust it up with a sledgehammer for fun. 3. Bought some Behringer gear. Got a GC coupon for 20% off, and ended up buying both a Model D and Neutron synth. $240 each. Ridiculous. Looking forward to a little semi-modular mono synth action.... 4. Bought the new Eventide 2016 verb for $29. October is shaping up to be a good month!!! Of course, black friday is just around the corner. PS - wait...come to think of it, I actually have been buying stuff. Just put into the fray 2 more Serpent SA3a comps, a second ZOD DI to pair up with the first (WOOOOHOOOO!!), and a Chinese clone Tube Screamer that I casually loaned to a buddy and haven't seen since..... So much for being on a buying moritorium.

Just bought a pair of Beyer MC 930 SDC. I already have some modded Oktava MC-012 and was looking for something just slightly clearer but still with some body. This is mainly for trying on piano (Yamaha U3) and an upright bass. Heck, I might find I like them on a lot of stuff... or conversely they might get sold off. :-)

Already having fun with the synths. The Model D is spectacular. Sounds exactly like a mini moog to me. Or at least 98%. The Neutron is wild. Gonna take a bit to figure it all out. Already getting killer modular-mono sounds out of both after 15 minutes....

Just got my first Squier guitar! And my first Jazzmaster. I can see why these are hard to keep in stock, they are very well built. Other than the tiny frets...

And once again with EMG pickup and a 9V battery holder installed in the back of the guitar (fun project). I'm already writing a new song! This thing is loud, but also pretty sounding if you play that way. It's tuned a whole step down, and the D is another step down so drop C.

We have a right to know because it's tuned low enough to cause the mantle to shift and cause an earthquake! Come on, come clean. Did you have to set it up especially for the tuning or was it all good without futzing?

We have a right to know because it's tuned low enough to cause the mantle to shift and cause an earthquake! Come on, come clean. Did you have to set it up especially for the tuning or was it all good without futzing? Good question! I am using some Dean Markley Blue Steel 12-52 "jazz" strings. I think on my supro Lexington that's in D I might have even used 13s. I did specifically set this guitar up for the tuning and the string gauges. I put the strings on, set the action, and then the intonation with my strobe tuner. It plays nicely all the way up the neck so it worked out pretty good. The high notes are really chimey with the ceramic EMG 60 neck pickup. Almost strat-like. Then you can step on the distortion and go looow and that's a good sound too on the bridge pickup (EMG 85 - Alnico 2), more fat sounding. This is a fun guitar! Something is slightly wonky with the tone pot I need to go back in there and reflow those solder joints I think. Other than that I nailed it on the first try.

Thanks, I was guessing you would have 12's or 13's and maybe a special 56 at the bottom to help keep it all together way down low. Remember, it ain't real until you let us hear the rumble from down under.😀

Rumble on, Brother, your hangin' kinda low there. Have fun with the new kid in town. When was the distortion supposed to come in, I might have missed it?

Rumble on, Brother, your hangin' kinda low there. Have fun with the new kid in town. When was the distortion supposed to come in, I might have missed it? About 3/4 of the way through there's a heavy distortion section This song makes a lot more sense since I overdubbed vocals yesterday. Funny how that works! Not sure yet what else it might need. I used an Avenson STO-2 omni as the vocal mic, handheld, and it sounds surprisingly awesome (mic is only worth about $150 used.) The guitar is made for distortions. The cleanup on the volume knob, and the tone control, is like having an amp volume and an amp treble knob at your fingertips, you get that much volume and treble out of these active EMGs. It will also overdrive most amps on its own without any pedals. I haven't played it in a couple days because I've been rocking out on drums but it's sitting there winking at me. Have to be careful with it though--it's loud.
