After ten years of mixing with Focal Twin6s, I decided it was time for an upgrade. I worked with Jeff Hedback on my room this winter and could not recommend him more highly. We reconfigured things and added a Rythmik Audio F25 sub, which has been a great addition. I just pulled the trigger on the ATC SCM20s. They are backordered and won't arrive until mid-March, but I'm pretty stoked to hear them in my room.
Had to share the excitement!

Yeah, Jeff for the win!
The 20's are passive correct? What amp are you using.
Post pics of the room!

Thanks, guys. I can't wait. I think I need to bring the Questeds 208s over when they get here! Scratch that I don't want to carry them up and down those stairs!

YEs, Jeff is quite the fine fellow.
ATC110s are on the dock for new mains in the new studio I'm presently building. I'll have to retire the old ugly Tannoys.

How do you like your Rythmik Audio F25 sub? I just took a look at their entire products line and they all seem to be a good value. 12 inch active sub for under $900? Impressive.

Yeah, Jeff for the win! The 20's are passive correct? What amp are you using. Post pics of the room! I purchased the active version. My studio is just a basement and it's a mess right now, but this was the configuration that worked best. Once I figure out how to post pics I'll add them.

I got the ATC SCM45 and Genelec 8351 to my studio yesterday for testing, for a possible replacement of my ADAM S2X (+ sub). The Genelecs are their coaxial speakers. Very impressed by the frequency response (measured flat down to 28Hz at my place!). To me it was also obvious the phase accuracy (hope that's the proper language..). Their GLM measuring/trimming app is also super impressive. Still, at my place and to my ears the ATCs are just to die for.. I have heard them many time thru the years, especially at mastering studios, but have had an old stupid idea that mixing monitors shouldn't be too clinical. Sounded great on all audition levels, even super soft. Despite the intimidating price tag, I'm leaning towards taking the plunge. Gonna digest over the weekend. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1141125/RGO%20stuff/ATC_Genelec%20test.jpg

I'm working in a new room (new to me) this weekend that's equipped with a pair of SCM100's. I don't know if I should be excited or afraid. Hahaha.

Interested in hearing your impression after the weekend. They have the 100's at the school I've been teaching at for 12-13 yrs. Always struck me how 'boring' they sounded. More and more I'm thinking it's a good thing..

I have been looking at ATC, PMC two two 8, Barefoot mm45.... OP bradd how are you getting along with the ATC? I wanted Amphion one 18, till everybody kept blowing drivers saying that need to work with a limiter on the output for fear of blowing woofers/ drivers on rogue synth patches or mastering.. Another user said the two and base series are perfect for mastering so maybe i was foolish think one18 could handle all duties of production, mixing, and mastering ... I need a monitor for producing, mixing, and mastering.... have solo6 as well, however hs8 yammy's are more true to source when mixing and mastering .. for me and my ears in my room lol

Update on the ATCs. It's been a busy year and I haven't done as much mixing as I would have liked. My initial reaction was that the ATCs didn't blow away my old Focal Twin 6s as much as I had anticipated. However, I'm finishing my first song that I recorded and mixed beginning to end using the ATCs. I like what I'm hearing. They really make you work to get rid of overlapping frequencies that clutter a mix. I am very glad that I have a sub to go with the ATC20s. Otherwise, I think I'd be guessing a bit with the bottom octave. I'll post a follow-up when I finish this song in the next couple weeks.

Went for the 45s and got them today! Get the feeling I'll stick with these for the rest of my career. The reatailer was gracious enough to let me have their demo pair until mine came in today so I'm already used to them, well.. didn't have to struggle ... Also got an Avantone for lo fi mono listening. This after a tip from my good friend and mixing genius GS member 'gainreduction'. Good fo checking mono compability, but even more for just reference listening and variety, and checking things at low levels. Curious about what jcoutu1 felt after that epic recording weekend.. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1141125/RGO%20stuff/ATCindahouse.jpg

One of the amps was acting up, they were being worked on while I was there. Stuck on NS10's for the sessions.
