unit7 you said "THIS double bass player" Yikes man ;-) Edgar Meyer's one of the greatest bass players in the world, possibly the finest, think.. the Yo Yo Ma of bass, only with a broader genre bending talent, and he's a major composer too . Chris Thile's in a league of his own, just magnificent.

I think Nickel Creek could have changed American popular music had their albums captured what they did on stage rather than being utterly over-produced.

It's hard to watch such outstanding people shooting themselves in the foot. In my old age I've grown highly critical of people getting lost in the Les Paul school of recording.
