Man I was so wasted, I'm usually less Phishy on the dance floor. You can tell what state I'm in from the slowness of the movements. Too much fun. What a mind blowing experience. Nashville is a trip, that place is special. So much talent and passion in one local. And everyone's so nice. Shannon showed us around Blackbird today, what a place, the Massenburg room is something else. The whole place is done right down to the smallest detail. Also got a tour of Shannon's shop and me and svart showed him our DIY mics and we put our heads together a bit. Shannon is a wizard, amazing what he does there. Yesterday was a blast, dinner drinks and conversation, then Randy and Don R. absolutely blew up the jam. I have a new definition of "guitar god." It was a semi-religious experience. We also saw Gruhn's and Carter's Vintage Guitars. The amount of world-class stuff you can just walk in and touch, I can't describe it. I was freaking out. Gear paradise. Ain't no guitar center. I might save up 2 or 3K in cash and drive back to Nashville just to buy an acoustic guitar. Truly cream of the crop stuff. I also checked out Third Man Records and Grimey's record store and picked up an LP I was looking for. Won't be my last time in town, looking for any excuse to go back now. Hopefully another RGO get together. Yes you were wasted, but it was a blast!! Yes it was a religious experience ! We got to do it again ! Great meeting you in person and everybody else! You had to be there Don and Randy on stage is something everybody's got to hear! Wish Joel could have gotten up there! Even in town filled with talent, our table stood out !

Big fun at the dinner and then drinks at the place with the music jam. I got to speak at least some with everybody there, I think we all enjoyed ourselves, I know I did.
At my end of the dinner table was Bob Olhsson and his wife Ellen, Peter (Wiz) Knight and his wife Jo, Jamie (Popman,) Shannon (Sinsay) Rhodes, JohnKenn himself. I already knew Eric Nelson from the BOC Kansas City show, and met Scott 79SG, Dan Monkeyxx, Joel Hamilton, Herbie, Chris Collins SVART, Randy Kohrs and his family for the first time in person. Dang, what a crowd of good people.
The jam was fun, there were 'way too many people wanting to play, but Randy and I did get up at the end of the night and play several tunes together. He just blazes on the lap steel. I'd hoped I might get to play with Joel Hamilton and Wiz, but it was not to be that night. Next time.
It was great to relate in person to people posting here. I think we all appreciate the comity and fellowship of the RGO board, and I salute John Kennedy for creating the opportunity for us to participate, and all of us for the will to make it functional and special.
Yeah, we should do this again.

The funniest part was when the keyboard player decided to play his 5 minute slow jam with 8 weird chord changes or whatever and the talent at the other side of the stage was just comping along, trying to lay back, and I was like, do you know who you're jamming with??? come on!! You killed it, I was in awe of your guitar skills.

Oh and if you really want a fun time, just ask Svart about his sewer robot stories. Yes svart has designed sewer robots!

The tune sucked but the guy did a great Don Henley!

I did enjoy myself none the less. There's Jam etiquette, and we were guests there.. I suggested to John we should book a studio next time and play and record ourselves. We agreed it was too ambitious for a first time get together, but maybe in the future..

For those of you who haven't met Don in person, he is the most laid back easy going guy, I would have loved to have Mixed either FOH or monitors, the very least rock star guy I have ever met!

This was the best night I have had in ages.
Donr is a rock god. That's a given. But he also proved last night that the bigger they are, the bigger they are. Seriously class act, great guy, and killer guitarist.
I told him I was gonna buy his dinner by streaming nothing but BOC a few million times and I wore it out today. Johnkenn and I were drunkenly texting each other deep cuts to check out well after we were both home.
If you missed it, you REALLY missed it.

Here's one of my favorites from the BOC pantheon of killer songs:
I will make it next time, for sure. I'll drive over, and bring guitars.

Like everyone that was able to attend has said, it was a great time. A really nice group of people. I told John that it is unique for a get together like this to happen in our modern world. Thanks to everyone that could take time out of their busy lives and hang out for the night. Look forward to the next one.
