Hi all, This idea has been brewing for a while and is finally ready to put into action. Thanks to tonycamphd and Johnkenn for helping me get this going. I'm starting a new program called Gear With Friends that lets all my fiends here at RGO use Louder Than Liftoff gear in your own studio for free. I think many of us are accustomed to sharing gear with our friends that live in our neighborhoods or cities. It's a great way to check out new stuff and geek out with other audio nerds. So let's expand the "neighborhood" a bit, shall we? The Gist:1. Sign up at louderthanliftoff.com. 2. Try out a Chop Shop for free. 3. Share your thoughts. 5. Pass it along. 4. Receive a discount. I'll be keeping an informal sign up list on this thread so we can track who has the unit and who is getting it next. Once you sign up on my site and I verify you are a registered user of RGO then I'll add your user name to the queue here in this post. Johnkenn currently has the unit so he'll be kicking this whole thing off. Each participant will be responsible for paying postage to the next person. If you use a USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box (#2) the you can keep the cost at about $12 and we get tracking numbers. For this go around, I'm going to limit the program to the continental U.S. Click the following link to learn more about the details of the program and to sign up:Gear With Friends
Or go to: store.louderthanliftoff.com/pages/gear-with-friendsOnce you have the unit in your hands, tell us about it! Feel free to share some pics, sound clips, or videos. How are you using it? What do you like it on? We can track the whereabouts of the Chop Shop here: store.louderthanliftoff.com/pages/gwf-map-realgearonlineLet's get this party started! This is going to be fun. Brad Sign-Up List0. tonycamphd 1. Johnkenn 2. ericn 3. dfh 4. jeromemason 5. lonzob 6. ianvoje 7. mhbunch 8. forgotteng 9. sleiweke 10. toolboxmuziq <--Chop Shop headed your way 11. rodsf 12. cool! great to see this started, I think part of the deal should be an expected writing of a review of our impressions? seems the least we could do for getting to use the CS for nothing, if that seems reasonable, do we do do the reviews on this thread? Wiz is coming to town soon, hopefully i can get him to do some personal experimenting with my Chop shop, and speak of it.

Brad you are one of the new badass's of the pro audio world ! Reminds me of the early days of Gefell when I said to the guys at Gotham after playing with a demo " if you guys let me send them out on Demo they won't come back, there won't be any B stock" Out of all of them I sent out I only got one back everybody else bought one!

tonycamphd Yeah, definitely folks should share some impressions here on the thread. If you follow the link to the page I set up on my site you'll see a complete set "rules". In exchange for borrowing my gear I simply ask that you make a post to FB or Instagram (tagging us), or submit a product review on louderthanliftoff.com. Full details are on that Gear With Friends page. I'm totally open to suggestions if you guys have thoughts on how to make this a better experience for everyone. Thanks, Eric! You are too kind. I just think it would be cool to have a little fun in this whole process. Music making should be fun. Maybe I'm super naive and trusting. I just see so many posts on that other site about guys not being able to audition gear in their studio due to financial reasons. So I thought: "I'll send people my gear so they can make some music and not have to worry about running up a big credit card bill." It's also hopefully going to be a great way to attract some new users here at RGO. REALGEARonline: the place where they give you gear to try out. Ha. So please download the little marketing pic I made and share it on your social media. Let's see if we can make some new friends in this sector of the inter-universe. Brad

Bunch of required social media tagging and stuff. Strong marketing. (or what Brad said above)

ericn Take pics if you have a get together. I got a snazzy new order tracking system in place by the way. I updated the GWF page so that you can track your outgoing or incoming shipment. I'm working on trying to automate this a little more, but for now it allows you to enter the number and get a status on where it is (once I have the number entered into the system). If I could ask folks to privately send tracking numbers for security/privacy purposes that would be appreciated. Also please email me tracking numbers by clicking the link below the tracking button on the GWF page. Does anyone know how I can add a little map showing where this Chop Shop has traveled. It would be fun to plot its course. thanks! Brad

But Brads system is much safer!

I just want to be respectful of people's privacy. And the last thing anyone needs is an internet stalker stealing a Chop Shop off your porch before you arrive home from work. Ha. Brad

I'm really glad you got it all sorted out Brad. I remember talking to you about the shipping/tracking and checking out stamps.com That must have been 6 moths ago. We use their system every day with our toy store shipments. Anyway very cool.
