Perhaps the best multi guitar arrangement song ever. Certainly in the top 10. Great stuff. Thank you.

Wonder how the Eagles split songwriting? Saw the doc, but can't remember if they addressed it. Don't think all the songs were split by the band, though. You have to wonder how much they've made off this one song. And Felder getting a split - and they can't stand him.

The entire music for the song was Felder's. He ended up with 25% of the songwriting according to his book. Felder was and is AWESOME. Glenn Frey is what he is. Don Henley is a mean old man.

Just got a chance to listen.....I'm always blown away by the musicianship and creativity from this era. I know it's beating a dead horse but there's more original, artistic substance in those guitar lines than most bands will have in 2 or 3 full albums these days. Obviously I've heard the song a million times but that was just cool!
That reverb is great sounding. I also heard delays and some type of flanger or chorus in some of the lead lines.
Test of time songwriting........

That era was the product of high school kids earning $100-200 a week playing top 40 gigs on the weekend. The next generation couldn't earn a living playing music.

Started earning bucks playing dances with my band at age 14. These days, any kid with a laptop is a "producer."

A "producer" with zero stage experience to understand what works and what doesn't.

This generation can't do anything that requires hard work. That extends all the way from walking to making music. A recent study showed 3 year old children can operate a tablet, smartphone or laptop but can't tie their own shoes. By extension, they could learn press a button but couldn't learn to tune a guitar. Maybe that's why Gibson's so hot on robo-tuning guitars

anyone care to take a shot at what guitars were used on the solo's? I suck at it, but i'll take a shot, i say it's a les paul on the first solo not walsh, tele on the second not sure ?, and a strat def walsh on the brief 3rd before the other guitars jump in... I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that i'm wrong 8) but maybe someone knows what was used where? Great friggin tones, vibes and epicly iconic phrasing!

According to Felder:Felder: ’59 Les Paul into a narrow-panel Fender Tweed Deluxe, just kinda cranked up, with just the guitar into the amp. Walsh: Joe [Walsh] played a Telecaster so that the two voices, when they spoke, had different qualities and tonalities. I've read that Walsh also played through a Tweed Deluxe amp, but never read Walsh actually say it.
