Taylor Swift vs. Apple

OFF TOPIC : John - speaking strictly for TV/Film performances here -- I don't know have the numbers for Radio play. A couple of years ago, ASCAP changed their rules to pay the same for a BI and BV. Background Instrumental / Background Vocal as they appear on the cue sheet - i.e.: songs with no on camera playing or singing during the performance of that song on TV/Film. That was a catastrophic change for ASCAP publishers / writers who placed VOCAL songs into Film and TV. Of course that's not the whole story, but for those whose bread and butter came from vocal songs for TV/Film, it was ugly. BMI has it's own issues.....don't get me going.... :-)
