Look at the response curve it shows them down -30 at 20hz and if you continue the line -40 at 10 and -50 at 5. It's still putting out a single, but not a lot . Trying to get any reall useable audio out at this low of freq will probably destroy it. One of the advantages of adding a sub is that by additional filtering of these freq. will create less distortion in the useable range by getting rid of these lows and what the cone has to do to produce these lows.

At 17HZ it's a pulse or clicking sound. It's no longer a sine wave.

Only if its a high pass filter

I just can't figure out how I can still hear an audible tone with a sine wav out of these down to like 10Hz...? Is it harmonics or something? It's crazy, you can see the woofer moving in and out super slow when down as low as 6Hz... Read the part to kcat realgearonline.com/post/61661/thread

Just gotta say, watch out running sines that low, you can overheat the voice coils of the speakers if you run steady state waveforms that low for long periods.. Might even overheat the amp too.

thanks! Even at 20hz? That's what I ran it at...

thanks! Even at 20hz? That's what I ran it at... Well, if it's really loud.. The lower you go, it's exponentially harder for the amp and speaker to work in concert, so you get a lot more wasted power, and therefor heat, which doesn't clear the coil when the speaker is moving slowly.

we should have a contest called "The RGO annual "Gear HO" awards", winner get an audio gear prize, the problem is JK would win the prize and sell it, people would accuse him of the fix being in lol

What group in the 50's sang "Charlie Brown?" "Why is everybody always picking on me?"
Anyway - I won't go back to Proacs - these are better. I think objectionally better. But go ahead, you bastards. Make your jokes.

Just to talk more about my life of addiction - I have been relatively sober compared to my Gearslutz days. Mostly because I was making a lot more money back ten years ago - and hey - why not try everything you can when you can afford it. I've grown a ton since then though. I am not tempted by every shiny object that passes by. But I'm still looking for things that will ultimately make what I'm doing more appetizing to the people that pay me.

Yeah and in the old days I would have figured out away for a nice set of Quested 3 ways to show up for a demo ! Your GAS has also lowered as you have built relationships with those who build the gear! You start to see the level of diminished returns.

I succumbed and bought a One18.
I previously had listened to the Two15 and totally preferred the One18.
The One18 is amazing and I hope to work with them for a long time.
My previous longest speaker I owned was Twin6 and SM9.

A used McCormack DNA-1. About 180W. Plenty of power and I don't use them all.

I've had the two15's for a few days, but I'm going to see if i can try the one18's. I feel the low mids are to much with the two15s for my room. Otherwise I like them.
