There are even a couple of reviews where people like the one15's better. But they're so tiny...I don't feel like a man.

This is my first post here. I'm a ProAc/Bryston user as well. I listened to the Amphion's at VK Nashville last week, and I was pretty blown away by them. I spent some time with the Two15's and the One18's. Of the 2, I preferred the Two15's over all, but the imaging was amazing on both of them. I prefer to work without subs, so I think the One15's are probably out of the picture for me. Anyway, the ProAc's are about to be for sale.

It's being said on another site that a lot of low post number commenters are coming in an hyping up the amphions, GS doesn't display the number of posts from what i can see anymore? The posts at gs I take more seriously are the repeat ones that tell a story. John's characterization is completely consistent with what else I have read.
If you are in the market the Amphion buzz has some legitimacy, I'd certainly want to audition them.

I never wanted to admit it out loud, but that was one of the issues I was dealing with when I had both the One15's and One18's in my room. My ears told me I liked the 15's better, but my eyes didn't agree. The ears won. Try 'em both, see what your ears think. |

I don't know anything about what is or isn't going on at gs but I do want to mention that I have been seriously thinking about these monitors for about 6 months and typical me i started emailing the company. I have had many email chats with Anssi, the owner ,who answered all my questions ,was very concerned about figuring out which speaker would be right for my room and just struck me a top notch entrepreneur with a solid product. The only reason I didn't buy was the collapse of the cdn dollar so it made no sense to do the the in house test when I knew I couldn't or wouldn't afford the monitors as I knew the warm eq's were coming and the development of svart's converter box. I will go to Montreal soon ( 2 hours away ) and will be able to audition the amphions there; I will burn my credit card before doing so  |

My only question that I have is that really cranked, the 15's can even fart a little on the big pop mixes. But I rarely would get that loud. Btw - I would never be able to use the one15's without a sub.

I am using 18s with pure 2 and they are absolutely fantastic. I used to mix on solo6bes and the biggest improvement that I felt when I compared them in my room was in the low frequency area. Bass is more defined, clear and deeper on 18s. The only complaint I had with my 6bes was its somewhat smeared low frequency response but with 18s that issue has been resolved. I haven't heard the 15s but I am happy with my 18s and I don't hear the 'fart' no matter how loud i play the music on them.

whats interesting to me is the diff in highend on the freq plot, the 18 seems more extended, and the 15 dives 5db in the air band, the low end on the 15 dives 5db at about 80hz, the 18 is nice all the way across, the slight dip at his beloved 2k gives us a clue to why JK is loving the 15 8)   |

One thing that was interesting when I tried them out, was that the two15's woofers were moving a lot on the pop stuff I referenced. They seemed to handle it fine though. At least at the levels I would listen to them at. I was a little surprised by how small all the Amphions are in person. I'm sure seeing them next to barefoot mini mains further exaggerated that:) When I'm ready to purchase I'm going to listen to them again and try to decide on which ones to get.

yes the ions but they may have been a prototype of the new amphions, someone at Ua forum I think was at the test session with Bruce and he described them as prototypes?
