Yep, I'd kill for a body kit. And I wouldn't mind a Haufe tranny. Where did you guys see the mention of Haufe?
I have one of Tim's capsules sitting here just waiting for a proper 251 body so I can build it. It probably doesn't make a huge difference, but according to their metal work drawing, it doesn't look they utilize the angled capsule pedestal like the vintage 251
I wonder if Blackspade is having Haufe make custom T14s

This thread is getting me all 251 Giddy! I want to start my 251 adventure too. I had a Telefunken M80 dynamic mic standard. That was the sharpest looking windscreen grill I have seen on a microphone. Ok, back to Blackspade. It kind of reminds me of the same looking grill on the new Blackspades. It's like a dark chrome.

I think I will call Shannon. I want a Bock bad, but if I can get a 251 that is very close to the Bock for a lot cheaper I might just go for that option. Thanks guys. Oh, you will most definitely...the first guy I recommended already has the Bock, so this was his second "251" and he told Shannon to do his best possible version...even with Shannon's own C12 capsule build, I don't believe the mic it totaled half the cost of the Bock...but he can give you the specifics...ask him about that one he just built for Kerry (pics below)...it was based on this GDIY build: groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=51377.0The "251-style" body/headbasket assembly was purchased from BeesNeez: beesneezmicrophones.com.au/mic-kits/It's funny because I was looking at the Beesneez kits also just last week. They look very well made. We have to start a 251 build thread. I don't want to step on the Blackspade thread...

Nothing on their website about the RS2 or RS4 yet. Just info on the UM17B. At least, I couldn't get the links to work.

Just wanted to add that I have had excellent communications and support from BSA.
I bought a used UM17 that I put a BN K7 capsule in. It sounds great! Much better than with the stock Chinese capsule.

Let me know if you ever decide to sell it. I sold one once and instantly regretted it. Mine had the red capsule in it. Great on vocals.

I think you could do a DIY as good as the bock for half of what it costs. My thoughts exactly. DIY condenser microphones are the epitome of DIY deadliness to me. Show me the well-executed DIY mic for $400-1000 in components that doesn't sound as good in a blind shootout to any $4,000-10,000 microphone out there that's ageing and dying a slow painful death.

I'm just waiting for the Chinese 251 body to hit the streets, haha. I might just go ahead and build a 251 inside a C12 body because, why not. I'll call it a custom hybrid or something.
Those Blackspades have always looked dang nice, though. They seem to...know what they're doing. I feel like the microphone gods are smiling down upon the world right now, as all the telefunkens and neumanns are fading away with Shannon bailing water out of the sinking ship. I'm glad people like Blackspade are leading the way forward. You always need a bright light to lead the way rather than some pale imitation of the past, like some of these other companies I don't dare to name.
