I tend to like the sound of inductors in eqs. I have two units. They are great. Very smooth. I get the feeling when I use it that I end up eqing more than I would with another unit. It is harder to make things sound "strange" even with huge boosts. I use it a lot to add low bass (40Hz) or highs (10KHz) to tracks. But most of the time I use it to add mid punch or weight to electric guitars. I'm also realising that I rarely use it for subtractive eq. Kinda wish the 1.5K were 1K but never mind...I have never used the vintage units so I have no idea how they compare to those.

build some of Jeff's LC53s for less than half the price! they're buttery smooth, and don't really sound like they're EQing when you get the end of the gain knobs, unlike a ton of other EQs. they're just awesome all around.

Any use on the mix bus Cenafria?. I don't process the mix bus much. In any case, the smallest change in gain is two db. Seems like a lot for the mix buss unless you are doing parallel processing, no?

Hey lolo, never used the electro, but i have to 3+ the lc53, i have 4 of them, and i will be getting more, they have the swinging inputs that narrow the q the harder you turn the boost/cut, i think that somehow makes them super musical, and idiot proof(perfect for me lol!) i haven't been able to push them in to getting that hollow/nasal/phasey thing, no matter how hard i crank em. they're just amazingly sweet sounding.

Those new Kush Electra's look really cool too. Love that Drum widening video that Gregg did. Check out littlesicily's Eisen EQ in the classifieds too. I don't know a whole bunch about it, but it's similar to the 511 I believe...

I know jeff's eq will be awesome. Will grab one at a later stage
What attracts me to the electrodyne and also the Eison/purple audio lilpeq is that it has a sound to it. When you pass audio through it it grabs that sound.Only 2 bands, give maybe a little bump in the lows and add some sweetness on top. Good to mix into on mixbuss as well. Def not a surgical eq. Also not clean. This is sort-off what im looking for atm.
JK the electra definitely looks great as well. Esp for a general eq
