Ok, what are some other good options for a plugin eq. I have used Flux Epure and liked it I don't own it. I own Fabfilter and love the use but it sounds mushy. Flux sounds a lot better. What other options have you guys used and liked. I own Q10 and a few others but I am looking for a plugin with a newer algorithm. What else is out there that is worth owning.

The Melda stuff is pretty good. MAutoDynamicEQ is a workhorse. BTW, it goes on sale every now and then. Definitely worth checking out!

Probably not what you're looking for, but I like the UAD Pultec Collection. You tried The Eoisis Air EQ? Thought that was good. dandeurloo - you ever try the Nebula stuff?

I haven't tried Nebula or the DMG stuff that I hear good things about. I don't want to spend a week learning a eq but maybe I need to explore those two options. I really wish Fabfilter just sounded better. Any one else notice it sounds mushy.

I haven't noticed it - but that could be my ears or overall engineering experience/skill. The problem with Nebula is that it's just SO FREAKING CONFUSING. But, I have noticed that it's extremely smooth and transparent.

Seriously, I don't need an eq with a user manual. That is why I haven't looked at those 2. Plus, I hear they are CPU hogs. I may end up buying FLUX but I wanted to see if anyone else had a good option.
Here is another question. What multiband comp are you guys using?

Although not just an eq I really like the eq in the Metric Halo Channelstrip 3. Incredibly flexible and sounds great. The gate, compressor and limiter are just a bonus.

Have they updated the algorithms or is Metric Halo using the same one from a decade ago?
I always thought Spectra Foo was sweet.

I'm going from memory (which may not be as good as it used to be) but I believe Channelstrip 3 was updated a year or two ago. Saying this, I remember BJ at MH in an interview when asked why there's never been a huge overhaul to Channelstrip and his response was we haven't had to do one because we got it right the first time. I have to agree. I've been using it since it was released. In their updated plugins you can open a window which utilizes some of the Spectra Foo technology showing what's going. I'm a bit of a MH fan boy as I use a ULN-8 plus their production bundle.

I'm still using DMG EQuilibrium over here. It's really not that complex. Just pull up the Mixing preset, and you're pretty much good to go. I've also been using the Slate VMR a bit, as well, but that's pretty much it for EQ.

DMG equick is exactly like pro-q but sounds better, and looks better IMO. equilibrium sounds even better and can be made to open exactly like equick so probably best option.

I use Voxengo Gliss EQ and really like it. I have not felt the need to read the manual, is gentle on the cpu too. While not in the same ballpark, the REDEQ from Acustica is something you have to try (it's free).

Cambridge Eq from UA is a staple. I like the Elysia Museq also.

Wish they would do a MkII version of Cambridge - with unlimited EQ points...

Yeah, my main issue with Cambridge is the lack of eq points. It would be nice to have M/S and a analyzer as well.

Almost forgot DDMF IIEQPro. It's got 10 bands and an analyzer. Not quite as powerful as the Melda (IMO), but really good and only $39...
