he calls you Herbie, have you been over for bacon and brisket yet ? I've got his cell number on my phone somewhere. We've chatted a few times but no briskit. He's supposed to take me out for BBQ next time I'm in LA though. For all his online shenanigans, Stevens a pretty good dude.

Agreed: i beta tested ssd 4 and had a lot of emails in the past; Steven's a great guy, a little wound up about recording stuff/gear but in a good way ! I bought BB as soon as I saw Herbie's quote

Hi guys. There's been a lot of nice things said about the Blackbird pack but I specifically chose Herbie's from GS because I genuinely think he is an amazing talent and respect his opinions. And Herbie when you are in LA I will definitely make you some BBQ!
Cheers, Steven

how are you handling getting the cymbal volume where you want it ?

|
|
Post by stevenslate on Apr 2, 2015 14:39:36 GMT -6
You can go to EDIT page and then click on the cymbal graphic, and then you can adjust the volume of individual cymbals which will output to the OVERHEAD fader.
Cheers, Steven

worked like a charm ! of course you can tweak as you monitor so get the levels exactly where you want them and then those tweaks stay in the kit; nice ! Attachment Deleted

I think Herbie deserves a free plug, since Slate got a free plug ;-)
An aye for an aye is the way I see it.

Also loving blackbird drums. Best sounding sample drums i've heard. Used it on a track a couple of weeks ago and it sounded amazing. Still prefer the midi grooves in ez though. Maybe something slate team can look at in the future. Also glad cowboycoalminer got mentioned in that quote. Very talented man indeed stevenslate you should pop in here more often and join some discussions. Generally a nice vibe around here with some good blokes.

Cowboycoalminer took a Superior Drummer part I'd done and replaced it with Blackbird drums on one of our tracks, and it sounded more natural. I don't want to mess with a new drum program, but if I could use SD, and then copy midi to try Slate's Blackbird drums, I might look into it.

Yeah I like the ease and thousands of midi loops in SD but I like Slate's sound better. My problem is the mapping is different and I find myself having to go back and reset the mapping manually which is a drag. Can the mapping on SSD4 be set to default to Superior Drummers mapping? Anybody know how to do this?
