Got a look at the insides of the Warm E.Q. Looks likes it well built. Sturdy case, Some ribbon cables and connectors, but Cinemag transformers.
Has stepped pots and some more EQ points. Wasn't able to really hear it with all the noise and open back headphones.
I'll probably take a chance and order 2 units. Hope that will relieve some GAS.

Its great... I really should wait to purchase the second one... I am after all trying to come to Nashville... perhaps it would be a touch greedy as well... 8).
I tell ya though, the impulse was strong...
It sounds really good. I have used real pultecs, but that was a while back.. this is lighter 8).
It does the "trick" really well.
I quickly tried it on bass (great, really great) acoustic, vocals, kick drum (awesome) and snare.
I would like two, I really would .. but I should resist the urge for a bit and wait and see....
Its a very cool box though, and at the price point. ... really good value for money, even with the Oz dollar in the toilet.
Nice work Bryce!!!
Now, get to work on that 670 ... you know you want to 8)

Awesome Wiz, thanks for the report! Just talked to the Warm NZ distrib, he got 4 for the country and he's hoping to keep it under NZ$1000, which is US$750 at the moment. Not bad, actually. I'm on the list, but prob won't happen until the next shipment. Problem is, I would want two for the master bus... Yea I'd need to get them one at a time. It'll be a PITA to run the bus channels through one unit separately for the moment, but the good thing is - it's Warm, won't take thaaat long to save up cash for a second unit. |

could you buy one stateside and import it more cheaply ? You can definitely buy stateside and hand carry more cheaply. But once you start shipping things, customs has to get their cut. I think Oz has a higher cutoff than NZ, but here once a shipment is over NZ$400 (including shipping cost), you're paying 15% tax plus an extra ~$60 in fees. Actually stoked that our guy here has quite reasonable prices. $50 above the US price is fantastic for us, it's usually more like 50% above the US price. |

I paid 870 AUD delivered.
that is 683USD today.
We have a free trade agreement with the US, anything under 1000 bucks Oz... no import duty.. used to be great when Musicians Friend did free international shipping on used gear over 500USD...man I cleaned up during that brief period 8)
so the pricing in Oz is pretty much bang on the US price which is cool... its just that our dollar tanked...
