The old TDM MDW eq was a great tool. I wonder if this is the same one.

Apparently, GM says that a great knife is useful in the hands of a great chef but not in the hands of an amateur. (Check out the video) WTF does that mean? This only for professional engineers?

Interested in trying out the MVM...want to see what it does differently than the Fairchild. Honestly, I don't reach for the DC nearly as much as I thought I would after demoing and buying it. I think the headroom knob throws me a little. Maybe I'll start just keeping it all the way up so I have a basis for every parameter.

In the examples even the dry tracks seemed to be compressed not making for great a/b'ing against the HW/SW.

those clips were done by Gannon, I doubt he fudged them ! I was more interested in comparing HW and plug .

Just started demo and put it on a drum bus. Just slapped on the JJ Blair Drum Bus preset...I'm buying. Immediately.

Keep us posted: I felt the same way but actually held off still paying for my 47 Thiersch work !! The guy who bought my dbox has $150,000 grand of gear, runs a beer outlet in Quebecx must be nice to have that cashflow and gear appetite !

Yeah - listening to this plug really makes me think the hardware must be awesome. I absolutely couldn't match the sound on the drum bus with the Fatso or the Fairchild. Really gave the snare some bloom.

i know people complain about the $299 price, but i they are missing 3 key things : UA plugs are getting better, they need to pay royalties and you can wait and buy when its cheaper.
I like the vari mu a bunch but still digesting 47, I bought the new eiosis air eq at 99, that is a very good price and versatile eq encourage people to demo while on sale

At fist listen this Manley plugin seems to have a very similar mojo to the Shadow Hills. I know they are fundamentally different but I can't help think you'd be reaching for them for the same tasks. It's definitely pretty, but I'm not quite sure i'm sold yet. All the stuff I tried it on was recorded live mind you, but I don't think it was a better-maker. I'll have to explore it some more before I pass final judgement, but I think that rmx16 will be edging this one out for my next plugin purchase.

The VM struck me as better than the SH's...On drum bus, I really loved the way this thing brought out the snare - made it bloom...I thought it made the whole kit expand.

I pulled the trigger on this one. I'm actually using it in series following the SH's VCA comp on the mix bus with superb results...it's cliche, I know, but it adds a nice polish and sheen, and I've actually replaced the Slate VBC in favor of this setup on a current project.

Yeah - listening to this plug really makes me think the hardware must be awesome. It is. Plus, it does a bunch of things the plugins can't do - like it can double as a hotplate to cook scrambled eggs on, and it can singlehandedly keep your studio warm in the winter. Good stuff!!

Anyone using this on a regular basis? I'm gonna re-demo. I'm being tempted by the Quad offer...although I'm reluctant to buy more plugs
