People conflate art with entertainment too much. Most pop music is entertainment, its not even really pretending to be art. So if you're a performer primarily, do whatever you gotta do to put on a killer show, go for it. There's no realistic way to dance and sing like they do without backing tracks.
If you're shooting for artistic integrity then more power to you, sing for real. That's certainly my favorite music but I'm not going to shit on anyone for putting on a good show when that's their whole aim.

Not realistic for most.
A few could pull it off in spades.
(Hence the Jackie Wilson reference earlier)
Heatwave for example…
Used to incorporate actual Gymnastics in their stage routine.
Sadly their lead singer, became paralyzed through a car accident.

One of the best live 60’s/70’s Rock bands… Paul Revere and the Raiders, unfortunately has no live TV or movie performances captured AFAIK. And that’s a shame.  Chris |

First of all, who the "$&%^" cares what she does, really? This guy has got wayyyyyyyyy tooooo much free time on his hands! I feel the same way. There’s videos of T-Swift playing solo acoustic in the room. She can sing and play just fine. Wings of Pegasus is generating clickbait just because he can, and I have better things to do with my time. |
