Ya, wouldn’t you think, every time he loved a capture, he’d check what was used and make a mental note? I appreciate the way that band is so dedicated to playing their asses off. Never been a big fan, but they are inspiring nonetheless. Perhaps that monomania is a good thing in this context. I’m glad I know how to record, but it definitely took time a way from playing my instrument and writing music. So it’s a trade off. some might argue the more you know and experience the better you are at all things

I have no idea who Chad Smith is but his drums in that room would need to be gated or expanded. What gear they're recorded through won't change that, even if it's better than Warm.

Not sure if you're joking about knowing of Chad Smith, but he's the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP). What's interesting is that in Rick Beato's interview of engineer Brendan O'Brien, he discusses recording one of RHCP's most famous records in a house in California - put drums up on a riser and basically had to accept the sound of the room when recording the drums but apparently didn't use reverb - used Drawmer gates (on the overheads, I believe) which when they opened up basically created the drum sound for the record (and I think it sounds great). Update: removed multi-hour interview, the relevant portion is actually in this clip -->

By the way, it's mentioned in passing and in the comments by Warm that the room will be getting acoustic treatment, but construction had just finished like a week before this video.
