Love this dude, apparently he's having a mix contest and I musta missed the part about what the prize for winning is?š¤·š»āāļø It's a "match or beat" his mix criteria, either way, he's the judge so stock up on the compression! Eric likes MORE compression, ask him what he wants to drink with his meal and he says...., "compression", bring him MORE compression lol

It sounds fun, but with the popularity of EV it seems like your mix could be lost in hundreds if not thousands of other mixes.

I think he'll listen to all of them for at least 10-20 seconds, the song from what i understand is only a minute long, I believe an experienced engineer/producer can weed out lesser than or bad mixes in mere seconds, especially if its his own production I'm home sick today so i will look deeper into the whole thing.... |

I may give it a whirl, why not? Its like 20 seconds of music with 4 elements and if you use PT, you can pick up where he left off.

he clarified there are straight full range digital files, analog processed files, you can chose what you want to use, i'm not mixing it but i'd chose the straight digital files because as much as i like EV, he over uses the living š© out of compression! His mixes sound like wylie coyote after an unexpected encounter with an anvil

you can do whatever you want: otb itb hybrid. donāt get me wrong: its good to have that many mics/tracks recorded as it gives you a lot off choice and its like using eq on tracks without using eq because the different mocs sound very different. yeah, some tape he has overdone: you can hear crackling noise on some. |

I knew Iād miss the cutoff so I submitted a āfirst impressionā rough last week. š¤ I really didnāt get the guitar honestly thought it was an afterthought. Then I watched the videos, started to understand the producerās vision. And of course it was written on guitar first! I realized I needed to make it shake the building more. Especially bass. Also I could create some width with those extra mics and amps. And holy $&@* the in/out NS10 speaker fok.. Iām sold! both are required! Messed around with Link Audio brown EQ, a lot of playing with asymmetrical image.
