Our friends at Audio Scape are recovering from not one, but two Hurricanes that have devastated the Tamp area (and much more.) AS is currently running a "Hurricane Bundle" for plugins and there's a Donate button at the link. This year, we’re trying something a little different. Normally, the best way to support us is through buying our hardware (more on that below). However, we wanted to open things up a bit, since we know not everybody may be in a place to buy new gear right away. So this time around, we’re offering our current plugin bundle - which includes the XL-305R reverb, Golden 58 Preamp, and Dual V Comp plugins - for a flat $100, or $277 off the full bundle price, with the option to pay more if you want. (Every little bit helps!) But… since we know what everybody *really* wants is more gear… we’re also including a $100 coupon toward a future purchase, with any purchase of our plugin bundle for $100 or more. I picked this up too. All three plugins are really impressive. People on GS were saying the reverb was some basic IR or whatever but I've been comparing it against so many others that I usually use and it was really the best at creating width and depth. Putting space between things. Ended up replacing the other main reverbs with this 305 spring one. It does a great job at making the snare punch and have impact too. Even in dense, busy mixes. And again, I preferred it over the others when it came to that. For my tastes, it's also a lot better and more lively than the UAD BX20. I compared it against Inspirata, BM60, SP2016, Tsar, Hits, Transatlantic Plate, 224, BX20, a lot of the well-liked stuff. The Golden 58 works really well as a first insert on sub-mixes, creates a sort of clear fullness using it in line mode. V-Comp has to be one of the best comps out there along with Level and Unfairchild. All three fair pretty well against hardware comps across a whole mix. For my plugin mixes, I prefer to use the green Shadow Hills on everything. Makes it so easy to balance things. V-comp may get some use in mixes when I switch to a better computer though. You really can't go wrong with this bundle.
