I've replaced the earpads on a bunch of my headphones over the years. First it was the Sony 7506 with the nice Beyerdynamic earpads that fit perfectly... but then those headphones died. Anyway, I've done several. I even had the factory replacements for my EX-29 headphones, but the adhesive gave out (very quickly - but to be fair I've had the replacements sitting there for a few years too) and they keep falling off. And they have hardened. These headphones are on their last leg anyway (I had to replace the cables, put a jack in it to make it easier, etc...). So I'm wondering if anyone has found a pair of cheap earpads on Amazon that will fit these (they have to be adhesive backed). I just don't want to spend $30+ only to have crappy adhesive fail yet again (but maybe for 7 or 8 bucks I'll do it...). Or maybe I'll just toss these in the trash and look for a new pair (but also don't want to spend that $$).

Not sure about what would fit, but you could get a can of gorilla glue spray adhesive (usually at Walmart, HomeDepot, etc, for $8-12) and hit the sticky part with that before putting them on. I use that stuff to secure new rubber base to hte bottom of a few guitar pedals - it holds really well. Alternatively, you could try putting on a thin layer of Shoe Goo to both surfaces and let it setup for 24 hours or so. It hold well but is flexible, so it allows for some movement without separation, which could be useful.
Hope you find something that works.

I was thinking about gluing it on better, but the pads tend to harden (which is different from most pads where the outer coating flakes off and sheds all over) so I would rather find something that I could replace easily if needed. Hoping maybe someone had tried it already. If not I may take some measurements and take a chance on trying some.
Or I may just throw these in the trash and try something like the Behringer DH100. They don't have as much noise reduction/isolation but they might do the trick. I used to use the EX-29's for drum tracking but now I'm just using a pair of ATH-M30x. So the higher isolation cans I find more useful for when there are loud amps in the room and I'm just trying to save what's left of my hearing lol.

I tried glue and it didn't stay. I ended up giving mine to a friend who was going on a 20 hour flight to Australia haha

I've ordered a couple pair from Amazon that are close in size (and have adhesive backing), so we'll see what happens. I'll check the fit before I peel the tape in case I decide to send them back (if they won't fit).
