EDIT: This is turning out to be a widespread thing now as evidenced by this link at the UA forum. So... don't upgrade. I've tried everything. This was the 14.6.1 update (I came from 14.4). Uninstalled and trashed prefs and all that stuff. Had already done the recovery mode thing. The specific error I'm seeing is in the screenshot below. I'm sure there's some weird thing I need to do (because it's Apple + UAD) like hold my nose, eat a spoonful of peanut butter, then reset the computer while holding down 11 keys. I just can't figure it out. Anyone? (Also, if Beetlejuice / Drew sees this, no I have yet to file a ticket. First I'm hoping that someone has a faster fix.)

When you say extensions do you mean the part that runs in Luna, like ampex or do you mean your UA plugs ins?
There are only a handful of ua extensions, but lots of plug ins.

Do you have like a Mac Keeper thing? A Mac Cleaner app? That's why I was having MAJOR issues with helper tools and installs.

Also, have you given it permission in Privacy and Security? Click on that go down to the bottom and make sure you've clicked the "allow" thingy...I think it only gives you like 30 minutes.

I do not use Mac cleaner and have never seen the pop up you posted so it’s not part of ua or Mac install.
I’d delete it, as long as you shut your Mac off regularly it cleans itself.
I use onyx occasionally never a problem.

I use onyx occasionally never a problem. Yeah I can't remember if I had the Mac Cleaner thing on last time I did a major update or not. I like it because it helps me to manage files and a few other things that aren't done natively, but I'll definitely try uninstalling that (and reinstalling )it this morning. Thanks guys, I'll report back.

Ok, I uninstalled CleanMyMac and still no difference. Starting to panic a little bit here. I guess to UA support I go. Wish me luck!
Still open to suggestions of course.
(Also, in case it wasn't clear earlier, my thumbs up to the post asking if I had already changed the security settings in the safe boot mode meant yes I had. Double checked and they are still set correctly.)

I found someone with the same issue on UAD forum and among his list of things he tried he included
"Had one of my buddies say 'I told you that you shouldn't have bought a new computer', but that didn't seem to help."
Haha... nice one

This doesn't feel promising... from the chat agent person after trying a few Terminal commands.

Hope all this bets sorted quickly for you. Good news is that I only use a Satellite now so I can still do tracking. MOTU drivers and everything else working fine. And most of the plugins I use (not too many these days) from UA I have the UADx versions of. But still... kind of concerning.

I'm assuming you are using the latest UAD bundle (11.4 - which of course is annoying only delivered via UA Connect)?

I'm assuming you are using the latest UAD bundle (11.4 - which of course is annoying only delivered via UA Connect)? Yes although others in the thread tried with older versions and still no luck. It's quite a mystery. Seems to be an issue with conflicting extensions and also an issue with the fact that they're doing workarounds on Apple security instead of recoding to comply. UAD users know what I'm talking about. You literally have to disable the OS security to install UAD.

Evidently RME has a similar problem. (Cue Dan to explain it in a way that we can't understand in 5... 4... 3... 2....)
