As a musician: When the first band I played in as a kid started understanding what playing together meant. The feeling of understanding something and growing into it alongside my friends... That period until the band inevitably fizzled out, was magical. It was a high I have chased since. As a musician, I have not had anything get even remotely close, despite a few milestones throughout the years. Those first years were pure innocence and joy. Later I was/have not been able to properly enjoy those moments, as the hassle and general admin surrounding it always overshadowed the pleasure aspect. (I still dabble, though. Go figure...)
As a producer: An artist I'm working with right now. I first met and got to know him as a session bass player. A really good one, used by a few major artists in my country. Little did I know that he also was an amazing guitarist and songwriter. A few months after we did an album where he played bass and I was the producer and drummer, he contacted me about recording a couple of his solo songs. We really hit it off as producer and musician working together, and those couple of songs grew into a full album.
It is the most uplifting and positive experience I've ever had, working on a record.

Third most favorite musical experience. My band The Demons had just reformed after a six month breakup. Hilly Crystal (of CBGB) funded a demo at Electric Lady studios for us. Genya Raven was an advisor on the sessions and sang some harmony vocals. I was doing overdubs in studio B and was told by the head engineer that the Marshall 100 I was using had been Jimi's. To say that was both chilling and a great thrill is an understatement. I wish I had those missing tapes now, sigh...
