Wait...PSP 245 is $150...ain't buying that with the race to the bottom. That’s one of the emulated lexicon delays. PSP 2445 is the EMT 244 and 245. Terribly confusing names. www.jrrshop.com/psp-2445 Code: GROUP = $20.58 You can use both the 244 and 245 at once to make some crazy sounds. Also endorsed by Dr. Barry Blesser like the uad 250. Snare enhance preset has some crazy chorusing that sounds almost like a slap back to hide poorly tuned snares

Ah...it's $149 on their site... psp firesale the emt 2445 all the time because plugin alliance gave it away for free accidentally a couple of years ago. 20 dollar partner sale + the codes took it down to 15 and then free.

Johnkenn, if you have slate trigger, duplicate the snare track, insert trigger(use a stereo instance) and have it triggering a room snare sample(or blend of a couple). 5Z5 or 5AZ5 in the stock library are a couple of my favorites. Also, if you have one of the signature libraries(Blackbird, CLA, Bendeth, etc..) you can load up one of those snare presets and then just mute the close mic samples. The Blackbird library has their chamber included so that's awesome. You can do this with Superior Drummer 3 as well. I use SD3 for drum rooms all the time. Trigger is easier, but I like all the different mic’ing options in SD3.

Just tried to demo this but apparently already did so at some time in the past. Johnkenn you think this is good? worth the $20? I know it has the dan stamp of approval, which is hard to earn

I know it has the dan stamp of approval, which is hard to earn Yeah - I just bought it like two hours ago. Been using it on an acoustic to try and get it to sound like it’s in a space…and I don’t normally reach for a plate…but this worked really nicely. I didn’t realize it had extra hidden controls for the longest and finally found where you turn the modulation down…after that being in real world settings, this thing sounds really lovely. Also tried on snare so far and it worked for this song right off the bat. Now, I’ve had that happen before and thought I’d found a go-to snare verb, but then it just doesn’t work at all in other mixes…so this might be like that…plus I haven’t gotten to try it on a vocal yet. But yeah - def worth $20

(I could try it myself I guess…gasp) Or you still need to drop the track into tracker?

No, yeah you have to use the tracker with a wav file. It's definitely more work than Trigger.

The snare reverb that always inspired me was on the double snare hit during the intro of ‘The Great Gig in the Sky‘ from DSOTM.
The reverb was one of Abbey Roads EMT140 plates and Alan Parsons who engineered the album said a KM84 was used on the snare.
While one size doesn’t fit all some things are just meant to be ie. EMT140/KM84… and don’t get me started on Coles 4038’s.🤓
It’s at 1:05
