modded HE-6 off a speaker amp. Nah STAX, once you go ESL headphones will never be the same. Any model in particular you recommend ? And that does bass ?  |

Nah STAX, once you go ESL headphones will never be the same. Any model in particular you recommend ? And that does bass ? Well that is the weakness, but you won’t miss it that much. The Good News is there was a sealed version that did bass better than most, the bad news is they are quite sought after by rich audiophiles. |

Is there a category for people who like Sony MDR-7506? Alternate reality residents? Ha ha, I have been using the 7506s since I was maybe 14 or 15 --> got used to them I guess (have 4 or 5 pairs at this point). At least I can agree that I also prefer them through the Lynx Aurora (n) headphone amp or (maybe even slightly more) through the headphone amp on the Dangerous Monitor ST (still using Aurora (n) for conversion). I did buy Beyer DT 770 Pro (250 ohm version) back during early pandemic thinking I might like them more...felt like bass probably better but I missed high mid (to my ears) clarity. Still have them, maybe should try again. |

I’ve been to a chaps house with a $125,000 hi-fi system.
Massive wardrobe size speakers!
Anyway, he played a recording of Holst Planet Suite.
It was very, very impressive. I was amazed at how immersive stereo could sound - I felt like I could walk in and around the players in the orchestra.
Really stunning stuff.
If I won the lotto I think I could have a “hi fi” room for classical music play back - it’s like you’re at a performance!
