I’m ranting But keep in mind even though the bus compressor is built with accurate ics, the method of use is pretty much the same as LA whatever or anything else with an auto setting or even something dual detector that assumes a certain peak crest value or only sounds good at that value, limiting its utility with real performances and recordings. It just has more possible sweet spots with multiple ratios and attack rates
The dual threshold, dual detector stuff lets the user set the compressor to the sweet spot for the recording rather than fit the recording into the compressor. There’s a handful of them in the box now and a few you can get used. They are all great.
