Dang that’s a steal!
I just discovered how much I like my Serrano 87 on overhead, so I might see about getting another…

Such a great mic.
My college room mate bought one based on my tape op review and he didn't even notice that I'd written it. He already had the mic when I pointed this out. Anecdotal, but his new release is the best work he's ever done.

I'm not familiar with his new stuff, just Teardrop Explodes era. I'll check him out, though. Thanks.

LOL - I just checked with Google and, yes indeed, it was the first mention. Your's is the second. I'm not familiar with his new stuff, just Teardrop Explodes era. I'll check him out, though. Thanks. His best records, according to many of us, include Peggy Suicide and Jehovakill, from the early 90s. The latter record is a pretty weird-sounding thing, in the best way. His recent records have got a solid, sexy sound. There was a period where his recordings didn't sound so good, like he was doing everything in one take, live vox against loud guitars or wot. I toured with him in the UK in 2011 and 2012 and his erstwhile right-hand bloke, Donald Ross Skinner, has played on some of my recent records. Julian Cope is a relentlessly creative and uncompromising dude!

Question. How dumb would it be on a scale of 1-10 to buy a Serrano 87 to then change the capsule to a genuine Neumann from Sennheiser?
