Can this dude sing or what? I've been watching a lot of his live performance videos on YT. I've yet to hear him hit a sour note. Maybe as close to perfect as I've ever heard. He was born to sing for sure.

It is very subjective and depends on the type of voice. To me, Hunter Hayes is an extraordinary talent... and he really should do one of my songs.  |

My cover band was playing Aw Naw for a little while, it was cool at first but the bass rides the open E so much it feels like you're playing Hair Metal Chris does have a good voice though. |

lol,... Thanx E, C, but why do i get the feeling that that line is more thought of like this... "Tony's the best ______!"(fill in the pejorative 8) BTW, for what it's worth, i think cowboycoalminer sings every bit as good as this guy, probably better, i don't think CB uses autotune..? hmm listen to 57 seconds?? Who is that guy with the Beard that sings his ass off? That guy is one of the "BEST" i've ever heard, and puts this dude to shame IMO. |

He sounds good in that song, different than Aw Naw but it still isn't real country. I've yet to see someone that makes me think they're better than Dan Tyminski.

Tony your killing me. No WAY can I sing with this guy., your right I don't use Autotune but I need to . This guy doesn't need to and that was kinna the point of my posting the thread. I don't trust anything I hear on the radio or from a studio these days. But I watched a bunch of videos with just him and his guitar doing singer songwriter round type stuff. His pitch is remarkable. His tone is ok but damn he just gets on top of every note perfectly and without effort. He actually sounded better in those laid back, love situations. Very rare. |

His style's similar to yours cowboy, so I can see why you'd like him. I notice a naturalness that's appealing and in general think he's obviously a very good singer, but I think far from great. For me, there's just not enough original character there.
And I'd choose Chris Stapleton over Chris Young by a mile. Now THAT guy's got character !
