The question is, is the Serrano $200 better? I think it looks $200 better (see my previous post). It certainly looks weird, but I wouldn't pay $200 for aesthetics. I ain't wearing it. I can buy a nice pair of sneakers with the extra money. Hell, I think the Coles 4038 looks horrendous. Actually, now that I think of it, most mics are eyesores. What phallic shape isn't? The only exception I can think of is the Soyuz 017. I think that's a beauty. The RCA 44 doesn't look bad either. |

I have not experimented with it but logic says at these prices the mic body has to be a generic OEM so there has to be a more attractive/ appropriate head basket. I get that the basket being used keeps them from getting sued, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play around 😁 |

I am kind of turned off by the head basket look. I guess when I go for a U87, I want it to look like a U87. Also, the head basket does play a role in the sound of the mic.
