BeesNeez. I had someone come to me years ago, quiet breathy female vocals and uke. She had some tracks that were done by someone on a BeesNeez and wanted to do more. I had a good 251 clone, I couldn’t find any info about BeesNeez back then. But those damn tracks were so perfect, it made my life miserable! Many sleepless nights not able to get that soft present top end, mine were way too bright and airy with sibilance. Really bummed me out she had some great music I'd be curious on what Beesneez mic it was. I’d say either a BC12 or a T2.

I think that the Manley Ref Cardioid might also be an option for consideration and the Upton 251, along with the other similar offerings out there, is quite capable as well ( )
On a budget, I once had favorable results with a Rode NTK with upgraded tube (through Vintech X73i) - but my guess is that your Audio Technica 4060 is already competitive.

You might want to check out that Advanced Audio CM800T I have for sale!
For quiet, breathy voices I think that sounds works great...I've just for several other microphones like the Chandler REDD and Blue Bottle with the B7 capsule and a Korby KAT and an Upton 251 that do a somewhat similar thing...although a lot more money.
I also think soft, breathy vocals is all that a TLM103 is good for

The song finally got released so I can post it now. This vocal was: AT4060 -> Stam 1073MPA -> AS Opto Comp Very breathy. Some may say too breathy but that's what she wanted. I did the production and mixed it. I also played the upright bass and percussion on it. I think on this voice, the AT4060 really shines. It's bright and airy but never gets strident, at least on this voice. You might feel different, which is OK.

EV635a. If they want to hold the mic, RE50. The magic of Omni ! So let’s combine Dan’s suggestion with a bit of C12/ 251 I’ll say my lovely MBHO lollipop with an Omni Capsule, best $125 I ever spent on a mic.

Only the Yeti is left. All other Blue Microphones out of Production sadly. Chris Really, I didn’t know that. I was also about echo Ward and say the Blue Kiwi. I’m so glad I bought another one a few years ago having bought one and then sold it and really missed having one around. They’re a really great multi pattern mic. I also echo the Blue Kiwi and add through a good tube preamp. A Kiwi through a Demeter VTMB is an amazing vocal chain for that application.

I just use plenty of Air (Mode). BTW experimenting with the EV 767a and 635a over the next couple of days. IIRC 767a > UA "Vintage Button" really brought out the Breath. (Plus I intend how to replicate this setting via EQ) No doubt the previous suggestions, are probably even better. But it's fun to mess around. Chris

I don’t think the vocals was too breathy at all, sounds really nice, personal and seem to suit her. But I would take another listen to the guitar and match that closer to the vocal, as the vocal has a very specific character and room to it. Now the guitar falls a little out of that space and feels like it’s in another room, which might give the impression of the vocal being very breathy and in a way shimmery in lack of a better word. Just a thought.

Sounds great! You guys may (or may not) have seen/heard the Parody Dylan post I deleted. (Bob "singing Motown") But... IMHO 767a > UA "Vintage Button" works quite well for Live Studio vocal recordings with a Band playing live... At the same time. (Remember those? ) I'm going to try to reverse engineer that Vibe via EQ. Fun listening exercise, to replicate a cool Distortion. Chris
