I'm being offered a trade of a Manley reference C for my Soyuz 0-19 FET. I listed my Soyuz in four different gear sites at $1,850, but it hasn't sold. I would immediately put the Ref C up for sale, I need cash asap.
Any thoughts or warnings are appreciated.

Honestly, you might want to see if there’s already one up on Craigslist Nashville and how any times has it been relisted. Or check recent sales on eBay and Reverb.

I sold my Ref C pretty quickly when I put it up for sale. This was back in 2017, so it might a little different now, but IIRC, I had a buyer within a week or two of listing.
The Ref C is still a very popular choice with pop & hip hop acts these days, so I would expect it to move quicker than the Soyuz, which is more "boutique." Plus, the Ref C currently retails for like $3000, so you can get more competitive with the price if you need to sell fast.
Make sure it's in good condition before trading, of course.

Or what if you just dropped the price of your mike, I am not certain what it is worth, but it seems the market is saying less than your asking ?

Other thought, you know your mike, don’t know the other, there is risk in the trade .

It is risky, I know. I don't think there's much you can do to a ReF C though. It's not like Neumann, where someone might want the transformer or the capsule.
The only reason to trade is the Manley has a considerably higher sticker price, so it might sell easier I hope..
I had dropped from $2,000 to $1,850. Perhaps could go to $1,800, but that's about it.

Honestly, maybe this is of a reflection of peoples real life experience and opinion of the 019/017fet mic. From personal experience i think the price point versus performance may need adjusting. but if you can sell a manley quicker then the soyuz then the choice is easy.

I bought my Manley for $2700 new and sold it for $2300 — if it’s in good enough shape, you could put it on Reverb and easily get an offer in that range. Of course, you eat shipping + the obnoxious Reverb fees, but you should be able to walk away with around $2000, give or take.

If you're in a rush to sell the deck is stacked against you either way. The only way to get good money as a seller is to have the patience to get top dollar. The Manley is a more expensive mic, so you have more potential $$$ to be made but if you're stuck keeping a mic because it doesn't sell as fast as you need/want then I'm assuming you'd rather have the Soyuz Fet.

You're right Tbone, hence my need to get some fresh opinions.

Too late, I caved and traded for the Manley. The Soyuz sounded better, but I hope the Manley sells quicker. I wish I could have just kept the Soyuz, it's killer. I just need cash asap this month unfortunately.

Martin John Butler Best of luck to ya, hopefully it sells fast. Keep us updated. It absolutely sucks to sell off gear you love. I hate that feeling. You’ll get through this and fingers crossed your next mic will be a REDD!

I think you can easily get 2k for the Manley depending on condition.

Here you go Martin. An interview with Jeff Balding on the 25th anniversary of Shania Twain's "Come On Over" album. Recorded at The Tracking Room, produced by Mutt Lange, Neve pres, "And for Shania's vocal, we used a Manley Reference Cardioid mic." Some additional pedigree you may be able to toss into any selling description. vintageking.com/blog/2022/11/shania-twain-come-on-over/
