I’m currently using Clariphonic 500s on my mix bus. I actually mix into these from the start usually about 9 o clock on shimmer and open. I think they sound great but maybe the slightest bit harsh. Would the EQ2 be any better as a mix sweetener? I don’t use any other EQ on my mix bus. I do have an EQ4 which I mostly use for vocals, and that sounds great.

I have a pair of eq4s that have lived on my mix buss for about ten years now. I prefer it to the clariophonic.

IMO you are onto something with your "harsh" comment about the Clariphonic. Not a fan.
I don't have direct experience with the Maag units, but from what I've read, the consensus seems to be that they're pretty awesome.
If I were you I'd demo a pair of Maags and see how they work for you.

I've owned both. Sold the Clariphonic pair. Just never really got on with them. A bit too "fiddly" for me. The Maag 4's are quite nice. Main applications here are for vocals mixing and across various stereo busses. They're simple to use and sound great.

On second thought I think I will stick with the Clariphonics for now. A little goes a long way and they really do have a great, almost familiar sound. I'm using shimmer and open just under the 2nd dot on each now, makes a nice change! I may buy another EQ4 at some point and compare them then.
