Hey, the title explains my question pretty well. I've order a 49 inch super wide monitor but I only now decided to ask you a question because to me it all sounded reasonable. I'm using my speakers in horizontal position, so I figured I would just place my long ass monitor below with woofers on the outside and that's it. I've seen DoctorMix using triple monitor setup with Yamahas this way, I thought to myself I can pull this off Will it work just fine?

Linas, you’re entering no man’s land here, anyone who makes a statement either way is basing it on their setup and their sonic priorities. Could it work ?, yeah but you’re putting a giant reflective surface between your monitors. And depending how close to the speakers you could be extending the size of the baffles. If you can easily return the monitor give it a shot & let us know.

Thanks! I will have 14 days for that. I mean, my current screen is also pretty big, it's 32 inches and it's between the monitors, so it is a big surface. You see, I'll be moving to another place and I won't be able to blast my speakers there, so I'll have to use headphones after 10 pm. I'm an night owl anyway. The moving will suck because I like the sound of my monitors and the room, which is all wood and glasswool. Yeah, I'll have to decide based on how it impacts the sound, not the convenience of the screen real estate and additional hertz for gaming

If it helps, I have three 27" monitors side by side in a slight semi circle. Under them in the center are my avantones. Just outside and nearly touching are my LYD 48s and I am breaking all the rules with my 8330A's on top of them. It is about 6' wide and I am not quite that far form them though I can scoot back and fulfill the golden rule as needed.
Honestly, the sweet spot on both sets are wide enough for me top sit inside the triangle. Sounds just fine. Sonarworks didn't have a problem either. translation is fine so....

Thanks! My 49 inch monitor is basically a dual 27" screen put together. Are Genelecs in the horizontal position?

I have to move my speakers up. Beautiful! Massively jealous. Almost enough to make a guy consider going in the box! All that desk real estate is taken up with racks and gear.

It does look like your monitors are behind the screen though. Is that just the angle?

Thanks, man! I actually am planning on building a custom desk for the outboard so your comment really messed with me, just kidding.
Yes, they are. But my monitors aren't on my ear level, so I have to get them up. They are kind of behind, is that bad?

You really want a direct line your ears.

The sound hasn't changed much. I can hear a bit less of the low end, mid lows are probably also a bit lacking, but it's not terrible for music making, but I hope that after I move my monitors around it will be completely fine. I'm think I'm gonna place them like this, what do you think?

Oh my gosh, we're all so different, your 49" uber wide monitor would be almost torture for me.
I even dislike my 24" monitor and have a short cut to make it go black with a blank screen saver that I use as much as I possibly can.
When I use my eyes my aural acuity is definitely negatively effected.
Do you not find that much light and visuality is over whelming and intense so close to your eyes?

I've had all kind of monitor combos. 2 x 32" provided more real estate, but I like this single yuuuge monitor better. It's very usable. YouTube on the left, Chrome in the middle and Discord on the right. It's great. I love it.

For what it's worth, here's what I look at every day. The speakers are right at ear level and unobstructed. Rather than a super-wide monitor, I have a pair of 3440x 1440 BenQ monitors. That gives me plenty of screen real-estate without requiring any more vertical space than a typical 27" screen. The sub is off to the left a bit. Not necessarily the solution for everyone, but my GRADE report (Genelec's way-cool room measurement system is excellent) .

Nice. What is the exact Gennies model? I want to measure them agaisnt mine. I'm nuts about measuring everything in my little studio, hehe. The ones you see (LCR) are 8341A. My sides, rears and 4 height channels are 8331A. Sub is a 7370A. I absolutely love them. They're all tied together with GLM. If you haven't run a Grade report on your system, you really owe it to yourself. It's free until midsummer. I'm attaching my most recent report here so that you can see what it's all about. While not every single thing about my room is perfect, this is actually a pretty good report for a studio in the home. Earlier tests showed me things I needed to work on, so I moved some stuff around and got it to what you see here. The report is generated from the calibration whoops you send around the room and what's measured by the calibration mic. Most calibration procedures work this way, but Genelec is the only manufacturer I'm aware of that takes that information and wraps it up into a helpful package. Grade report.pdf (3.87 MB)
