Hmm, what about that business that does those mods and then slaps on a huge sticker preventing you from opening your gear ?

Funny story about those stickers, a major SR company no longer in business bought a bunch of amps from a manufacturer who put them on all their products. Now one of the key reasons they bought the amps was because the amps didn’t need any space between them, well the amp manufacturer didn’t explain how hot the chassis could get to who ever they bought the stickers from, so all the stickers burnt off. Well the amps had a bunch of faulty relay’s. The guys in the service dept. tried to deny the warranty claim. So the SR company simply filed another warranty claim for defective seals. They won.

Most companies put those stickers on because they know that it's impossible to tell what damage was from the original failure and the damage done by the customer trying to fix it.
The right-to-repair law that voids the stickers only covers the original failure.
