So you guys are implying that Austrian Audio is going away? Or just the OC18?
This would really surprise me. The 818 is a very cool product and I've heard good comments about the handheld 707.

I’m thinking just this model, consider the AKG lineage of management, only time AKG ever offered big discounts, 1. They were discontinuing a Mic ( oh all those AKG close outs anybody remember the C525, not the c535 but it’s plastic sister?) 2. When they moved production to China ( 1/2 price 414s! Damn that first month when we were clearing out all the German made stuff was fun, then we noticed the Stamp on the next shipment.) Now I know the move to made in China was part of making Harmon want AKG and I don’t think AA wants to sell out. The other possibility is of course they want to buy market share via a great deal, here is the problem with that, you think your favorite gear pimp is covered for this deal? I mean last month I would have made more in commission on it . So yeah I think we are going to see a new and “ improved version “. Not sure if the improvements are for us or AA’s bottom line. |

I've heard good comments about the handheld 707. There’s a good special on the OC707 at a retailer out here, I’m tempted to get one. |

Not sure if the improvements are for us or AA’s bottom line. Please guys, the GAS is strong. From what I saw, the OC18 stereo set I see is the "Live set." I'm not that familiar with Austrian Audio microphones, but it looks like these don't come with the shockmounts that otherwise come their OC18 or OC818.
edit: Oh whoops. Missed the whole point of my post - I'm guessing the live set is getting discontinued, as opposed to the OC18. But time will tell.

What you are saying is my take also… no shock mounts included. FWIW they retail for $119 US dollars. I ended up buying a set. |
