Hi,
I was wondering if there's a communication channel through which CAPI announces items added to stock? I've been reading about stuff selling out in minutes, but how does everybody get updates? I checked CAPI's twitter and instagram and saw no announcements.
Thanks!

Yep the facebook page is the only way. Jeff will comment on the appropriate post which is a product when something is in stock.

I know! I'm chomping at the bit for some more VP28's and I'd like to try out an LC25 & LC40. Need another 500 series rack too.

Nah I'd rather build them myself, that's half the fun! I did buy some of those IEC splitters from Trace recently. They're great!

Sounds great, but the last update was about 11 months ago. Has everything been out of stock since then?

Sounds great, but the last update was about 11 months ago. Has everything been out of stock since then? The updates are in the comments of each post. For example, there was an update on a small quantity of VP25/VP26 kits being in stock last week.

I’ve subscribed to email notifications for each item I’m interested in on the capi site. Do we know if that works or do I have to keep checking the FB page and digging through comments?

Back when I was in the CAPI update game, I just checked the website multiple times a day. During that period, Jeff released that Facebook page and I found it to be THE way to keep updated on the stock. I just configured my settings to alert me when there was an update or a post in the sections that I was following. I never really had much success with anything other than these two methods, and I'm sure I subscribed to email updates, etc.
Just gotta be checking all the time, and when there is stock of something you want, don't hesitate, especially on things like the VP28s or the BT50s. I was always able to score VP28s, LC25/50, and BT50s whenever the stocks updated through the Facebook page.
For some of those items, some parts were just flat out backordered for ever, and updates came quite infrequently. I seem to recall that I got in on a batch of BT50s, and then they were backordered for like 10 months after that. Jeff was usually pretty transparent on the items that were especially troublesome, and I seem to recall that he'd post about the wait times on things like the Grayhill switches or transformers. I'm sure Jeff is probably just as frustrated as everyone else, if not more so.
I liked all of the CAPI builds I did, but by far, the most frustrating and nerve-racking part was installing those large Grayhill switches on the BT50. Its a tight fit, for sure!

Just make sure you are following the post corresponding to which ever item you want. And you'll get a notification when Jeff comments. Or anyone else for that matter.

Ok I’ll subscribe to notifications on that thread. Oh right I need to try those BT50 eqs too! Yeah I’m still working through building the SumBus. That has been the hardest build for sure!
