I'm intrigued, I don't need it.. I don't need it.
But it is intriguing, has anyone tried one?

I definitely have and they are abso-smurfly buttery. Everyone wants (needs) at least one zener comp, imo - and I haven't heard anything through the Zen that wasn't better for it. Obviously it's got contemporaries costing everywhere from half to ten times as much. Tempted as I was, I decided to go with the AudioScape D-Comp, which (despite no industry carrot-on-a-stick incentives) I reviewed on ER. ( link) They share more than a small handful of similarities sonically and functionally - it really boils down to which one you feel more comfortable working with and prefer. But if you can't get 'that sound' out of either, the problem isn't the hardware.

I have one for over a year now and it is just a great tracking compressor for drum rooms and overheads. I won't let it go for sure.

That's the one thing you do have to keep in mind - a company like IGS isn't going to fare as well in the 2nd hand market should your needs / wants change in the future. A future classic? Maybe. But that's a long bet. I always figured if I fell out of love with the AudioScape, the used market is voracious due to their small volumes. That said, you can buy it long after I am deaf, dead, or destitute.

I am a big fan of IGS. They make just about every essential piece you might need in your studio, and use quality parts/build.
Been lusting for a Chandler TG1 for years, I tried the Zen and although it was very cool, I just didnt need it so didnt keep. Also tried the Audioscape version and was a similar story.
Those compressors are a very unique sound, that do their own thing. I would call somewhat of a 1 trick pony, but in a good way.
If anything i almost want to check out their V8 next. I feel like that one would be a but more versatile/work in various applications.
