Add in that AVID is predatory, toxic, private equity backed company like that got de-listed, bought numerous companies, fired the developers, and outsourced development to contractors in Eastern Europe. Pro Tools development lags behind other daws because of AVID and it has even had regressions in audio quality in recent versions. Similar behaviors can be found from other audio conglomerates but Avid is the big one. Man...I love AVID. Sincerely.  |

Artist Mix here. And I go between that and writing automation with a trackball which also works great for me. Personally, I rarely ever "draw" in static automation. It's always dynamic and flowing. Either via the artist mix or via trackball. The Kensington trackballs have a cool feature where you can set a button to drag and it doesn't release until you click the button again. I use the shit out of that feature ITB. Click, drift at will, click. It's pretty great. |

really enjoying the SSL UF8, the NOB (small company cool product) for finer detail stuff but I think I'm getting rid of it as I have a rock solid Micro 4k SSL style control and my desk has too much shit on it! lol
might have to try that kensington trackball tactic Bat is describing! SSL Uf8, Rocksolid Micro 4k and track ball? the holy trinity of controls never shall I stray again? unlikely. lol

We are still using an older 8 fader Digidesign branded DCommand with Xmon here. Pretty economical way to go for controlling Pro Tools and monitoring. Still love using it.
