What’s good for Rhodes/Wurli VI’s?
I have Piantoteq, Orange Tree, Scarebee Vintage Keys, I used to have Waves electric 88 until I refused to WUP.
Looking at:
Purgatory Creek e-instruments Acoustic samples Vreed

I’ve not heard anything that convinces me like Keyscape does. My ears but also my fingers. Generally, but also specifically re: the electric pianos.

Imho Purgatory creek beats the rest of them. Very deeply sampled.

I love the Arturia Wurli. NoiseAsh has a really cool free Rhodes: noiseash.com/sweetcase-vintage-electric-piano/Another one is PastToFuture, TONS of great stuff for dirt cheap. Loads of crazy good Kontakt instruments for under $15. Check out this vinyl Rhodes:

Imho Purgatory creek beats the rest of them. Very deeply sampled. Sounds are very good & you can get the 4 different Rhodes pianos for $24. Want to purchase but nowhere on their site is there any requirements (support - only that Kontakt full version is required) or even contacting them.
Have you ever had any communication with them?
EDIT: Just contacted them & they responded immediately.

The two Scarbees are good [nm, I see you have one], and I've heard really good things about the "Famous E" LA Rhodes from Orange Tree.

For me - Keyscape all day, everyday. I would love to get me a good EP, but I'm primarily looking for a good set of virtual pianos, and I have my eye on Pianoteq 8. I assume you like the Keyscape pianos as well?

For virtual acoustic piano: Garritan CFX is great (no discount) & any VSL (have some BF discounts). But you can get Sampletekk's White Grand MkII for $20 (90% off all pianos).
For EP's: Orange Tree has the "E" Piano for $116 (35% off).

Think you're pretty much covered. Have you heard any of the VSL (Vienna Symphonic Library) pianos (Synchron & regular)? They're pretty much the standard. The Garritan CFX comes very close to the VSL CFX (full version) for less than half the price.

Keyscape isn’t cheap, but I got tired of spending $50-$100 here and there on Great Deals that didn’t really satisfy my ear. Add up a bunch of Black Fridays of those Great Deals (for VIs I never truly loved) and you easily surpass the cost of Keyscape. Lots of ways to skin the cat but I’m happy I got this several years ago. It’s still the best I’ve come across and I use it constantly.

I think the frustrating part of keyscape for me is the forced buy-in for things I don’t want.

I guess if something beats it, then yeah, even if it (Keyscape) had been released last month. If it’s still the best (it is for me) then no, regardless of when it originally came out. I’m always interested to hear new contenders though.

I assume you like the Keyscape pianos as well? Keyscape has a very produced piano in it, kinda commercial studio recording piano to my ears. I do like it a lot. I also use Ivory II, Piano in Blue and Alecia’s Keys all very good depending on the setting. Pianoteq is modelled and very much reminds me of my Roland V Drums - fantastic response and playability but a bit synth like and a touch plasticky in its sound. It’s hard to beat a piano sample library as it’s real pianos. Don’t you just record your real piano for piano sounds? Oh and the YAMAHA CP-70 in Keyscape is worth the price of admission alone - I love it! The Roland digital pianos are fantastic too. For me Keyscape was an absolute no brainer purchase. I have all the Spectrasonic instruments, they’re some of my leading sounds on my productions.

I know you're asking about software, but I have to recommend the Yamaha YC-61. It has the best electric pianos I've heard next to the real ones, and I've recorded a good number of those. Plus, it has the best organ IMO for a stage keyboard, plus high quality built in effects. And it's super easy to just hook a USB to your computer and record directly. Very well made device.

I just reinstalled Scarbee 88 Stage and got it calibrated properly to my controller, and it's the best ITB Rhodes I've played. The 30 velocity layers combined with some very nice scripting/scaling make it feel like playing a physical instrument.
However: now it makes my Scarbee Wurli feel downright flat by comparison. Does anyone have favorites for a deep sampled and well programmed Wurli on that level? (Besides Keyscape, I take that as a given.)

The "LA E" from Keyscape is a model from the same year as the original famous "E" from Leeds Rental in LA. That one has been licensed out (from owner George Mamalakis) to Orange Tree & Jay Graydon. Orange Tree did an incredible job & might just be the best Rhodes vst out there.
For Rhodes-Wurli combo I'd look into Velvet (AIR) as they have 3 Rhodes & 2 Wurli's in that package. I've seen it sold for $20.

I kept waffing back and forth between several options, including the Scarbee 88, which was near the top of my list. I ended up going Acoustic Samples VReeds and VTines. I've got the Orange Tree Famous E, as well as Soniccouture's EP73 Deconstructed and Pianoteq. I also had Waves Electric 88 until my refusal to pay the WUP tax. I admit to being smitten with the Keyscape stuff, but paying that much for instruments that I won't use doesn't sit right with me. Anyways, I couldn't decide between Scarebee and Acoustic Samples, so I went with Acoustic Samples because it's got a light footprint, and I've got their excellent B-5.
